Been in Cabo once but stayed at resort beach. What are some of the better beaches in both Cabos?

The best beach is Medano Beach, in my opinion. It's safe to swim there and there are all kinds of water activities, restaurants, bars, and vendors.

Chileno and Santa Maria are beaches on the corridor that are nice, and have smaller crowds if one wants a more secluded type of beach.

The beach on the Pacific side is awesome to look at--from a distance. There are dangerous waves that make it unsafe for swimming and often unsafe for even getting very close to the water. People have drowned from being hit by rogue waves and dragged out to sea.

The best beach is on the way to Todos Santos. It's Ceritos Beach and has a beach club on it. Calm water without the drop off that Medano has and current is safer than Medano.

Chilano and Santa Maria are good for snorkeling Medano is not but you can snorkel near lovers beach from Medano with a water taxi if you wish.

We like Cerritoes Beach Club too. Its a 25 - 35 minute drive from Cabo. Best place for a fish taco and Corona while the sun sets.

Is there a sign that clearly marks where to turn off to get to the beach?
This is on the Pacific, right?

Yes, there is a sign that says Cerritoes Beach Club at the turn off but you need to look for it. Travel Mex 19 north from Cabo and if you go past the El Pescadre sign you went to far by 3 miles. The road off Mex 19 is improved dirt for around a mile to the beach.

Sounds about right.

One other surf worthy beach on the Pacifis side is the north end of La Pastara Beach. The waves get huge here. To get there you go to Todos Santos and turn north a block from the church. Once you go down the hill you just follow the big power line north through a residential area and you will see a RV park. Just a bit further is the beach or you can park across from the RV park and walk down to the breakers. This is a bring your own place.
