Hey All! New here and tried searching, but could only find a post from 15 years on this topic. I am interested in doing an exchange into RCI to book an all-inclusive trip to Mexico or Caribbean. This will be for a family of four (myself, wife, and 2 adult sons) so I need a 1BR+.

All of the point prices I have seen on RCI are reasonable, but AI fees can vary significantly. We are looking for a good size resort, clean, safe, and not worn out. From a food and drink standpoint we don't need the best, just solid with decent options.

What do you all think is the Best Bang for your buck? Any experience with Club Melia At Paradisus Cancun?? It seems like it might fit the bill.

Good AI deals via RCI or II do not exist. Just pay cash via OTA like expedia - it will be about the same price, but you save a deposit.

You may be able to find something in RCI's special offers area. These are usually highly discounted stays with cheap AI fees. Of course you will have to do a sales pitch. But, if you can say "No" you get a great deal.

I did one at Lifestyles Holiday Vacation Club. Total cost for the stay, including AI fees, was about $300 per person for 7 days. Decent resort. Several restaurant options. Decent food.

If you are a Costco Member try Costco Travel. Many times their quote includes airfare.

Agreed with the others--there aren't very many cost-competitive options, and it is barely worth looking. The Tradewinds cruises do seem to be an exception--the AI fees through RCI are a pretty steep discount off of their prevailing rates, though there might be another way to book it affordably. The trade power required is usually small.

Check Fiesta Americana in Cabo San Lucas. We went several years ago when the all-inclusive rate was a better price. We liked it so much that we have it booked again for November 2024, but of course the price has gone up a lot. It is worth taking a look.

As others have mentioned, all-inclusive is rarely a good thing with a timeshare.

Or the Explorean Resorts, there is one in Cozumel and one out in the jungle south of Cancun. Both of these are AI, but they include one excursion a day. It is not a bad deal with the excursions added in there.
