I am trying to put together a family trip from the Baltimore, MD area to Hawaii. I am curious of opinions on the best time of year for low airfares and possibly the best route to get from Baltimore to HI. I will NOT be travelling with school age children, so I am open to anytime of year.

The best rates are off-season, especially in the fall, not including holiday weeks. Highest rates are Christmas, and other Holiday weeks, and summer, when the kids are out of school.

Hi!

I fly American Airlines where I have my ff miles that I use to upgrade from BWI to DFW and then directly into OGG (Maui). I normally take the earliest flight into Dallas which leaves me plenty of time to allow for delays to make the Maui flight.

I did fly in/out of Dulles one year because it was something like $80.00 cheaper per ticket.

Not sure about cost differences as I have always gone in January, February and March so I can see the whales which are incredible.

Aloha,
Ilene
