Being harassed by Wyndham to do Wyndham to SVC Presentation

I am on the Big Island. Prior to the vacation, my husband received a call from the resort to do a 'welcome presentation' at Kona Coast Resort. My husband didn't think it would be for a time share presentation, so he told them sure. Then, they got CC and he thought it was for the hotel's deposit.

When I found our timeshare presentation info in our welcome bag when we checked in, I was livid and confronted him. We went to the concierge to cancel this and to get the deposit back. Concierge agreed and we thought it was over.
No, her boss called us to verify that we want this. She kind of pressured us to do this.

After that, I think we got somebody from the sales center because the lady was relentless about getting us in to do this presentation. I listened into the conversation for about 5 minutes and she went over about how travel and leisure took over and we need to know what that means as owners. She tried to get my husband to have me on the phone. He felt like I was going to be way too belligerent and knew I wasn't going to be cordial. She harassed my husband for over 10 mins to do the presentation.

He finally got her off the phone. He's like I think they just want a body in there and they are desperate to do a sale.

Travel and Leisure means Jack. No changes to what you own.

When on the phone, you control how long. You have the power to end the call at any time you choose. There is nothing the person on the other end of the call can do to prevent you from hanging up. In order to avoid future harassing calls from that person, simply block calls from that number.

You’re both correct. They must have warm bodies in the meetings in order to make sales. As long as your warm body is listening to their spiel, or worse, actually conversing, asking questions, even arguing with them, you are a potential sale. If you find the “free gift” they offer you to attend impossible to turn down, go, sit quietly, keep checking your watch, and request your gift after the hour or 90 minutes of your time they told you it would require. Be polite as long as they do as you ask. If they don’t do as you ask, get as loud as necessary. They won’t like you scaring the other targets in the room.

Imo, the best option is never attend. My time is more valuable than the gift.

We are on the Big Island ourselves and staying at the Kona Coast Resort. We are long time owners who bought KCR weeks in 1992 and never converted to Shell or Wyndham so we just have two floating weeks. We got the phone call today within minutes of checking in and the woman was really insistent that this was NOT a timeshare presentation and nothing was being offered to sell. It was just going to be an "owner update." She was emphatic that things had changed that impact our current ownership. This was exactly what we were told at Worldmark a few months back (different arm of the Wyndham brand) and we learned this is a lie. Travel and Leisure is a rebranding scheme, nothing more. Nothing they could say would impact our current existing ownership. I let her bully me into making an appointment for a few days from now and then came here to see if others knew of any startling NEW information that we must hear about. Clearly not, so I'll be cancelling this presentation. I did not deposit anything thank goodness.. and they didn't offer me much.. just an unspecified amount of reduction in maintenance or a "free" week. I'm truly amazed at how many lies they tell in these presentations and even if trying to get us to sign up. The resort itself is LOVELY, so I think the vacation value is there. I just wish they were more reputable with sales.
