Isn' this the St Regis under a new brand after the property dropped the St Regis brand?

That is correct. It was a St. Regis for 14 months ... after taking almost 4 years to build. It will be interesting to see if Marriott has the same problems with the developer that Starwood did.

The irony here is that, for years, the property sat vacant and BeachPlace owners all thought it was for the 2nd tower of MBP as the full name is Marriott BeachPlace Towers ... yet there was only one. Then, it was announced that Starwood was building a condo hotel on the property. In the end (so far) Marriott gets it back -- maybe that will have a positive influence on the upkeep of BeachPlace.
