Anyone stayed at BPT recently?

There was a review posted on one of the facebook groups that said they are providing two free loungers on the beach per unit now? ($30/day for an umbrella if you want that)

That’s a nice new perk of staying there if this post is right!

I read that review on Trip Advisor...I highly doubt it.....although BPT will give you small beach chairs...definitely not loungers... free of charge to use on the beach....im not sure you can rent an umbrella with out renting the loungers too...Its a private business and its not affiliated with BPT...we havent been at BPT since last January.

Perhaps calling the resort would get an answer.

I called the resort last week since I saw the FB posts as well. And front desk confirmed a 3rd party is providing the lounge chairs as part of the reservation but umbrellas are extra ($30 a day). Thought this was fantastic! Last time I was at BP 7 years ago, they offered free chairs to take yourself but that's too much to lug around. And I remember the prices for the 2 lounge chairs and umbrella 7 years ago was a lot more than Ocean Pointe at the time and I'm sure it's even more now! So having free loungers are AMAZING!

Here is the company that has partnered with BP to provide lounge chairs as part of your reservation. Number of free ounge chairs based on unit size of reservation.

I was there in late April when this went into effect (I believe May 1 as the 1st few days of our stay it was not offered) and yes 2 lounge chairs are now provided to BPT guests. You just give the 3rd party provider on the beach your name and they apparently have a list of guests and set up 2 chairs for you. A great perk now at BPT. Umbrellas are $30 per day but no reason you can't go downstairs to CVS and buy one for the week. They got rid of those uncomfortable folding chairs they gave out at the pool for beach use. On the downside, the overnight parking fee went up from $14 to $20 per night.

I suspect the parking fee still only applies to non owners? It has always been included for owners using their ownership week or those who explicitly exchanged back in with their ownership.

Is the HOA paying for the loungers in some way? Or is it free in hopes that the vendor can rent out umbrellas and still make some money?

Good questions.
I am not an owner at BPT and we were there on an exchange and were not charged for parking this time although we have been charged before on exchanges so I am not quite sure what the parking policy is. I did see the sign up when you enter Level 4 with the $20 per day parking charge and that also went into effect May 1.
I have to imagine the HOA worked out a deal with the vendor and is kicking in something on the lounge rentals although not paying the entire $40 per day charge. Too many guests were taking their complimentary chairs and not renting umbrellas so if it is dependent on the vendor making money on the umbrellas it probably will not last long.
Strange but the front desk never told us about the new complimentary beach chair policy, we were told by other guests at the resort otherwise we would not have known about it.
