Hi folks, we are spending four nights at BeachPlace starting March 8th. We have never stayed at this property. I'm looking for suggestions on where we should request the location of our villa. We have a two bedroom reserved. Also, do all two bedroom villas have two entrances? Thanks in advance for your response.

You really only have two options; ocean view or intracoastal view. There isn't much else to ask for other than a high floor. All 2BR units are lock off and have two entrances.

Both Intracoastal and Ocean Views are great since the unit floors are on top of the Garage and Lobby so your 7 or 8 floors up to start and will have a good view from either.
They are currently painting on the Ocean side of the building and some of the patios are closed with blue plastic covering the windows.
So you might be better off on the Intracoastal side now or in early March to avoid possibly having your patio closed and plastic on your windows.
They will eventually start painting on the Intracoastal side when done with Ocean side so you might want to call in early March and see what the status of the painting is and request to be on the opposite side of it.
As mentioned all 2 bedroom units are lock off and have 2 separate entrances.
OP should also be aware that you are going to be there at the very beginning of Spring Break and that area of the beach is a complete zoo for 4-5 weeks in March and April so there is a chance you have to deal with that.

We liked a high floor and the intracoastal view. The lock off unit is a blessing if you have guests. The lock out units have two entrances.

Both parties can have total privacy. IMHO

Be careful about asking for a high floor as the elevator service there is about as bad as it gets. I personally prefer a floor or two above the check in area so I can easily walk up a few flights of stairs and not be bothered with waiting for or riding the elevator.

.

If I'm coming a long way to stay directly on the ocean. I want a view of the ocean. And the long waits for elevators are only annoying when it comes as an unpleasant surprise. If you know about it, and expect it, it's easier to deal with. Oceanfront, high floor for me. With the caveat that I'd check and make sure they're not going to be painting and/or blocking my view during your week.

The very fact that your week is a spring break week might make the oceanfront "people watching" view even more interesting.

We are owners. The elevators are the one consistent issue with this resort.

It’s very busy that time of year, and it’s likely to be spring break. We always request a higher floor, but not necessarily the top floor. The reason is because the elevators are slow. You want to be near the top when you’re coming down otherwise the doors will open, it may be full and you can’t get in. This is our best advice, try to get above the 14th floor.

We personally prefer the intercoastal view because it’s quieter at night time if we want to sit outside on the balcony. If you’re facing the ocean, especially during spring break, it will be very noisy at night.

We were on the 19th floor last April, Intercoastal side, which has a great view. The 19th floor also has a large indoor/outdoor oceanside area that anyone staying can go out on to enjoy the ocean view. I have heard about elevator problems, we didn't really experience any long waits. Overall we loved the property, only issue is the pool could be bigger. Otherwise, it was a great week!

We've been coming here for around twenty years for weeks at a time, mostly in December and again in late January and through half of February. We have always had beach views on higher floors until this month, when the number of beachfront units available has really decreased due to construction on the beach side. Our view from the 15th floor overlooking waterways leading up to the city proper is interesting, especially on a clear night. Unlike the beachside, it is quiet. Obviously, there's not much to see once it gets dark apart from the lights on the few freighters holding in the water. That said, our preference is beachside. One of the four elevators was down for service in all of December; I never would have guessed that here in February it's still down. Not so much as an explanation from the management. On the days when people are leaving in droves while others are coming in in droves, the elevators are a mess, especially with 25% of capacity unavailable. Otherwise, with a bit of patience, it's very manageable.

We've only come here once during spring break time - years ago - and learned our lesson. That's when we spend time at one of our other favorite places, Ocean Point. They don't have that problem. Interestingly enough, what my wife remembers in the elevators that year at BP is that the young men were very gracious and often conversed with us, but the young women would quite purposely ignore anyone not in their clique.

"People watching" during spring break includes drunken young people on the beach, loud music coming from various directions, and very skimpy bathing suits. I dare not comment on all of that, except that we once had to turn over a young man who was so drunk that he fell into the sand face-first. We turned him over to make sure he was breathing. A bit later, some other guys carried him away.
