Be wary of Capital Vacations!

STAY away from Capital Vacations at all costs!!! There is trouble at a resort they have managed but now been terminated by the HOA's

This is from the current boards about the situation

-- denied owners access to critical reports and financial documentation
-- demonstrated negligence in several safety and operational processes
--Capital Vacations illegally took control of units they were directed to bring under association management. Rather than managing these units on behalf of the association, they appropriated them for their own benefit.
--Funds allocated by the boards for annual wages and bonuses to high-performing staff were never distributed to employees as directed.
--They implemented a rental system that prioritized Capital Vacations-owned units over owner units, directly disadvantaging your ability to rent your property and generate income.

Unfortunately, they took over all VRI resorts, including Foxrun. They keep calling me to talk about options for our unit. It figures that VRI would sell to a disreputable company. There have been numerous reports about them here on TUG.

I believe they also manage Brewster Green, a favorite of ours.

They are now actively managing Hawaiian Sun Holidays, and have gained control of several association owned weeks in exchange for a cash bailout. There have been 2 special assessments, and MF's have increased.

VRI was sold to II which was subsequently purchased by Marriott who then sold VRI to Capital.

Which resort?

I wrote a review on the resort here a couple years ago, not sure if you can search reviews by posters. We still vacation there even though we no longer own. Even when it was SPM they were shady imho, I ran for the board once and it was not right how they handled it.
