I recently purchased a new developer contract to get me to Platinum and after thinking about it, rescinded. I was Gold going into this and now they have dropped me to Silver. Their explanation, an error was made back in 2019. Warning, never, ever, ever attend an update . I will never go again and will be nasty to all of the Wyndham idiots that I encounter.

Was it an error? I mean, there are certainly situations in which some owners incorrectly received the benefit of double-counting certain contracts towards VIP eligibility and lost VIP levels when Wyndham brought their accounts into compliance with policy. But if you had at least 700,000 billed points annually as of 2020, you should remain permanent grandfathered gold.

I bought one 308k packages and piced two weeks and the rest resale and had 3 platinum accounts. A lot was el cid resale which I stumbled across.

I'm pleasant with the Wyndham reps and usually just say no and go about our stay. Occasionally there is a dumba** rep that has a problem with no and will badger us. It's rare in our experience but is very annoying. I try to have fun with these idiots and sometimes say "stupid says what" real fast and the rep always says "what" . It cracks me up as we walk off.

Correct, that would have been November 2012. The qualifying number of billed points prior to either 2020 or 2012 (I assumed 2020 would apply because they mentioned 2019, but I suppose it could be either) should keep them grandfathered, as long as it wasn’t one of those double-counting situations.
