a la @ljmiii, I thought I’d write a mini review of our trip last week.

We stay one night free at the Hyatt Regency Grand Cypress near Disney Springs, and then 3 nights on points at BCV and then 3 at Poly.

Loved Poly, wish I owned there! It has the perfect vibe. The weather at both resorts was great for pool time, so we had little park time.

One highlight of our Segway tour of Fort Wilderness, it was fun and enjoyable. I kind of now want to do a trip to the Cabins! I don’t have enough BC points for it though. If anyone wants to book for us, we can book one of our ownerships at the 11 month mark!

We had a full dining schedule:
Polite pig, Chef Arts lunch, Topolino Terrace breakfast was great, Cake Bake was good not great, Wailulu was great, Cooks was good, Trader Sam’s was great, Ohana dinner was great, Kona Cafe breakfast good.

Service was excellent at the Poly.

We rode the entirety of the Skyliner and stopped at Primo Piatto for a bite.

We played mini golf at Fantasia Gardens- both courses!

We got checked into a handicapped room at Poly before 1. We didn’t request the handicapped room but it was fine. It was great to get into the room early.

I think that’s it!

Agree about room comfort. Not enough seating and not arranged for conversation. However the Murphy beds are comfortable!

I'm curious...did you stay in the Island Tower or one of the original buildings?

Thank you for the summary. My son has a split stay coming up (we are three parties staying at different resorts). His first is BWVs (has stayed numerous times) and then Poly for the first time. Can't wait to hear what he thinks. I might try switching/waitlisting it next year. Always change my mind though after looking at the point chart ;):)

We stayed in an original long house. The room itself had weirdly almost no storage but we made it work. The nice thing is that we were immediately adjacent to the Oasis pool, which was quieter and more relaxing than the main volcano pool- ie where we wanted to be. We had requested a ground floor room. So it was very convenient.

The points chart is exactly why we didn’t buy there. The options we considered at the time were 100 pts Poly direct or 175 pts Copper Creek resale. The Poly points charts were why we went with Copper Creek, and that was probably the smarter choice. We really like BCV because of location (and the pool), CCV because of the lobby and variety of room types, Jambo for the animals. We bought VCF (but haven’t yet stayed there) for location and in theory more upscale service.

However Poly has it all: great ambience/vibe, best number of restaurants along a more continuous scale of price points, great location, great service.

I could see trading in there whenever possible (except at Christmas, when I think CCV, VGF, or Jambo are the places to be).

I also was really intrigued by the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. We got a pretty good overview of the Fort on that Segway tour and there’s a lot to do there. I could see a Fort-only trip in nice outdoor weather (like early March) just to do all the available things there. However, once we complete our pending transactions, we will only have 25 Blue Card points. So we’re likely to never actually stay there, sadly! It would have been an advantage of Poly direct for sure! But I have no real regrets. I can in theory rent my points out one year and use the $ to rent at the Fort if need be.
