Does any one know what the code VILLA mean at Barony Beach club. We had 2 other exchanges here and they it had HVILLA, which turned out to be or we got in the front buildings closest to beach.

The first letter (h,d) just tells you it was a developer or bulk deposit

Ignore the first letter of a five character code then compare to this;

TOGA....Barony Beach Club...........Garden View........2BR unit.
TBOF....Barony Beach Club...........Ocean Front........2BR unit.
VILA....Barony Beach Club...........Ocean Side.........2BR unit.

VILLA is the same as HVILLA. The first character of a five character code just identifies the type of developer deposit. See the first post of the thread linked above for the FAQ on unit codes.

If you make an exchange into Barony, do you automatically get Garden View? I'm looking at my confirmation and don't see any codes.

Scratch that, went into Interval versus the confirmation pdf and saw HVILA. Does that mean we get Ocean side?

Yes, you should be placed in an Ocean Side unit. Keep in mind that all ocean “side” units don’t always have a view of the ocean.

I'll be going with my husband who is handicapped and uses a scooter, as well as my 88-year old mother who will be fully vaccinated by that time. (She already had her first shot.) So being in the adult area of the resort with a little less walking is what I'm interested in. An ocean view would be a bonus, of course! She loves looking at the ocean. We took her to the Marriott at Myrtle Beach with us and she was in love!

It's possible that Barony exchangers won't be placed into the unit-type designated on the II confirmation because Barony is one of the resorts that doesn't honor II designations but instead prioritizes exchangers and places them resort-wide in order: first, MVC owners exchanging in to a resort they own; next, MVC owners exchanging in to an MVC resort that they don't own; and finally, non-MVC owners exchanging in.

Usually I'd suggest exchangers should temper expectations about placements, that you could get lucky but a Gardenview placement is a real possibility. During these COVID days, though, they're more concerned with facilitating the COVID housekeeping measures and lower-occupancy restrictions, so it appears to be more likely that they're honoring II designations.
