I am thinking of doing an exchange w/ II & wondering about The Alexandra Resort Residences in Turks and Caicos.( sorry I put Barbados in title but can't delete it) Can anybody tell me about this property? I am looking for something comparable to Marriott Ocean Pointe(Palm Beach Shores Florida)...beachfront location, decent pools, walk to nearby restaurants, balcony overlooking the beach, nearby grocery store & golf.

I suggest reading my review from 2003. It was fairly detailed.

We would love to be able to trade again into the Alexandra. It appears they are putting units in II and not RCI. We stayed there the 1st year it was open. Even without eveything being finished it was a wonderful resort. I expect that they are still in the building phase as they had many more buildings scheduled.

The beach is wonderful. You may or maynot get a unit/building which is beach front. I read at one point they were giving these units to the owners who traded back into the resort. At the time we were there there were only beach front units and the view from the balacony was magnificient.

You do need a car on this island. You can walk a few places or take a cab, but it is much easier with a car. Not a lot of night life.

The beach was not crowded as most of the people were diving.
