Hello!

My daughter has requested a trip to Bali for her graduation gift ( not until 2026 but she asked now so we have time to save etc ). We would be traveling with our family ( me, my husband and kids - 17, 15 and 13 at the time of travel). We plan on potentially trading our deeded week at NCV in II for a week there and then possibly extending the trip with our points.

Ok, my questions -
Do you think it is possible to get Bali in a Trade for our NCV?
If we do get the trade, is it actually possible to extend the reservation with our points?
What Bali resort would be better for our family - Terrace or Gardens?
Have you ever traveled with a youngish family to Bali- How did it go?

Thanks!

We were in Bali last month and stayed exclusively using elected week Abound points.
I can’t comment on potential Interval availability or travelling there with a young family.
We stayed at Nusa Dua Terrace, the newer resort colocated with an also fairly new Renaissance hotel and sharing all its excellent facilities up in the hills and more rural. Every villa also has its own private plunge pool.

We did spend a day at the original Nusa Dua Gardens, colocated with a Courtyard hotel more centrally located and more urban.
Both offer complimentary shuttle services to the shopping mall and beach, where they both have their own Beach Club next to each other.
We definitely preferred the Terrace as a resort, but you can’t easily walk to shops, restaurants…etc so if that is important the Gardens may be a better option.

Really appreciate all your Non US experiences posts. Very useful.

My wife used Grab (Lyft equivalent in Asia) to go to Gardens, and it was quick and affordable.

We arranged our airport transfer through the Nusa Dua Terrace resort team.
We knew we would pay a premium for this, however arriving in the evening after a day travelling we just wanted to get there as easily and quickly as possible.
We are pleased that we did, as Denpasar airport was chaos and pandemonium so to have our driver looking out for us with a sign amongst the crowds was very welcome and Bali prices even for limo transfer seemed quite reasonable - although the cost was IR 425,000! that is only ~US$27.
We got talking to Made our driver and arranged to use him for all of our day trips around the island which proved to be a great choice and for a long 10-12 hours the cost was just ~$102.
