Resorts Owned
Massanutten, Wyndham, WorldMark, Vistana, Marriott Los Sueños, Vidanta, Flora Farms, HGVC Max, and some independents
Per the Lagunamar GM, MVW now owns ~600 weeks at Westin Los Cabos Baja Point and is working to add them to the Aventuras trust. They have got through the latest roadblocks and expect that to happen this year.

Further rumor-a new resort will be announced in PV next to the Marriott. These were both statements made at the Lagunamar owners annual meeting by the GM.

Not surprised about Baja Point. It would make sense for them to convey that to Westin Aventuras over time as they reaquire weeks.

As for PV, is there even room there for another building? I would be thinking kinda like Los Suenos in Costa Rica. Why would they sell the Westin property there in 2022 if they later just plan to add rooms elsewhere. If it were added, I suspect it would have the Marriott brand vs. Westin.

Seemed odd to me as well. I definitely won’t be holding my breath. I kind of like the area around Buganvilias better than the Marina in any case, and the MFs are decent there; our 2 BR LO costs less and it’s easier making reservations.

That’s fantastic news. My mother in law prefers BP and I can stay on the other side! BP can be a pain to book at 8 months, especially in the winter. Most of Cabo is platinum plus inventory too, so probably would help out the MF ratio.
600 weeks is about 12 units, how many units are in BP??

I think this is probably so they have a bone to throw at any owners upset about losing the Westin Cancun (which has been usable by Aventuras owners but wont be any more).

Then it gets quietly cancelled later.

Although who knows - my understanding is they are still actively selling Aventuras and probably will continue to do so given limitations on Mexican inventory in the land trust. So maybe if it sells faster than they can add stuff back from lagunamar/BP they might add something new (especially if they can get a new sales center out of the deal)

According to the post from @Eric B , there should be 20 villas remaining at Westin Cancun that are still timeshare.

It will be interesting to see how they handle Aventuras as it starts to sell out. I suspect Baja Point will give it a bit of a lifeline, but 600 weeks isn't all that much. They can probably sell those points in a few months.

We will be in TS's the PV Marina in Feb & can walk around the Marriott & look
..... Why would they sell the Westin property there in 2022 if they later just plan to add rooms elsewhere......
My understanding was that the PV Marina Westin Hotel was so well built [ using lots of concrete] that trying to combine
hotel rooms to make TS suites was going to cost a lot of money.
[Note:I cannot remember if I tread this on TUG or saw it on another news source]

I believe I did see & save a couple of news articles about the Westin PV Marina location.
I will try to locate and post.
