Yellowstone Park! FREE: 2Bdm/2Ba -Timbers at Island Park

Trading weeks is through Trading Places - see post #20. If anyone is seriously interested in adopting this week, I can call Trading Places and see how many deposits they currently have, BUT since their affiliation with the resort just started March 25th, it's going to be a small sample size.

I have considered this one so many times. It's a lovely setting, we watched a rancher and a lot of helpers herd a huge number of cattle on this highway once years ago. It was amazing to watch from the unit we were in. Thousands of cattle.

Just have to say, I rented a week in a 2 bedroom for early June for $2,000 at the WorldMark, a nice little profit for me, and I believe this one is nicer than the WorldMark after looking at recent pictures of both.

Someone should grab it.

And by the way, Capital Vacations cannot make you convert to points. That's baloney. They keep calling me on my cell phone to set up an appointment because we own Foxrun. I told them they have nothing to sell me and to stop calling. It's easy to say no. They have nothing for knowledgeable TUG members.

I owned at Timbers at island park since 2000. I gave this week to Denise several years ago. It is currently a fixed week. I believe you can convert it back to a float week the problem is there are only a few 2 bedroom units at the resort so reserving prime time can be tough...which is why I converted it to a fixed week. The unit was renovated about 3-4 years ago, not sure if they are doing more updates as I no longer own any weeks at Island park.

It has always been an excellent trader in both Interval and RCI. The resort is not owned by Capital but my understanding is they purchased a large number of weeks. Capital did purchase Trading Places which has been the management company for many years.

Please someone take this, before temptation overcomes me, as I look at it longingly every time I log in and see it's still available. I would take it if I lived within a day's drive. I'd take it if I were 5 years younger. This is one of my dream locations, since IMO Yellowstone is worth visiting at least every other year or maybe every year -- like the ocean, spectacular and different every time. Grand Teton is gorgeous too. The only hesitation I'd have is Capital; they were not good news at a recent ownership of mine, but it may not matter in this case, and already a number of resorts which recently switched to them have already begun ditching them, so it may not be forever. And that's a nice perk Denise mentioned about Trading Places Legacy. I've almost talked myself back into it, but so far I'm restraining myself. If I hang out here much longer, I might have to speak for it, so please hurry. :hi:

Patti very firmly tells me no more Maintenance Fees. No additional Timeshares.

I believe you @chellej got me involved there first with float weeks then with fixed around 2004.
Also TUGer @KathyHolle (RIP) also owned here and recommended it.
Backin the day you exchanged into Manhattan Club with a $350/MF, shhhhhh.

I sold my week to Jim @Passepartout as he and Paula enjoyed it there and owned an adjacent week.
A friend still owns a week 28 1BR and trades every year for Aruba January or Grand Cayman February to name just a few.

Why this is still available is beyond me ???

Glad to see it's being refurbished. We stayed there via RCI.
We found it excellent for Yellowstone and Jackson Hole and the Tetons.
I remember it snowing a little in early June. The peep were very friendly.

Still available! :hi:

You should adopt this timeshare and put me out of my misery.... 🤪

If I were 59 instead of 79 . . . .

Yeah, right. The board can jack up the MF and special assessments and make you wish you never heard of Capital Vacations.
Unlikely in this case. The board is comprised of owners, and they simply hired CV as a management company. The board has been scheduling refurbs as they have money to pay for it (Denise's has been refurbed)
To the extent possible, IPV (Timbers) is well managed by people who care about it's long-term viability.

If anyone is sitting on the fence, wanting year-round Yellowstone access that is priced a tiny fraction of even staying at one of the newer hotel-like properties, this one is a bargain and exchanges extremely well.

Jim

When we stayed there, I remember a drive into Yellowstone in which we had to stop at a scenic overlook becuz a herd of buffalo decided to use the bridge in front of us to cross a stream. We held or breath as they walked right past our car and several others. Keeping our distance was not an option.

When we stayed at IPV about 15 years ago (??) we stood at the kitchen sink and watched Antelope playing in the field adjacent to the resort. And yes, in the early mornings, there were Deer playing in the same field. The buffalo were hanging out inside Yellowstone.

However...

Oh, give me a home,
Where the buffalo roam,
And the.
..

You can finish the song... :D
