"Concierge" guy was really nice and friendly. You need to sign up for the new booking system thru "Travel and Leisure" Talked a good game, spousal unit said, Ok, we will attend. 60 minutes, $75 Amex card and parking covered, $80. "I'll need a $40 reservation fee, refundable after the meeting. Nope, good bye. Ok, no fee, but please show up. We went, they had a fancy Bunn drink dispenser that was hit or miss. Off to the group room for the quick recap spill: Where did we get our start? Shirley Arkansas, I replied. Presenter took note. Gal went over all the other options for using your points, all bad point usage options, also save your points for cheaper "value stays for short notice trips. (not where we go, all high demand.) They gave you a QR code that would take you to the new app on your smart phone (guess what: Club Wyndhum app!). I mentioned to my sales weasel that I currently only buy resale points that are being given away free. The group room meeting broke up. The spousal unit and I were escorted to a separate private room (that word "resale got their attention). Weisel went on and on about consolidating our contracts into some vague new account, use my current maintenance fee dollars to pay for it and never be bothered with maintenance fees again. I said, ok, slow this down 2 knotches, I'm never buying another developer contract. I don't need any level of VIP, current system works just fine for me! He leaves, supervisor come in low key, talks about renting our leftover points thru a new portal etc..... Said no thank you, time to go. Weisel returns to "close down" our presentation. He then goes to his last sheet of paper (not yet talked about). Asked for initials for decline on a "deal" for $100,000, with $70,000 credit for all our contracts, leaving a balance of $30,000 paid for using our maintenance fee dollars over the nex 10 years. I laughed, said I'd be 79 years old! We left, picked up our Amex and parking voucher and were on our merry way. Total time 90 minutes. And we were never signed up for the new Travel and Leisure sign in app. I had heard this spill about 10 years ago, now its just got new window dressing.

I was hoping they at least got you signed up for what was promised by the concierge. How will you ever be able to move on without being signed up for Travel + Leisure?

I've always looked for an opportunity to mention resale points during the group presentation portion, but never found one.

I'm doing one Friday, so maybe then.

Beware of the side room away from the "developer point" vombies!

When we toured at Grand Desert, we had no sales rep even come in to collect us after the group presentation. None of the sales reps wanted to touch the 100% resale folks in the room.
