Aventuras availability

Currently own Aventuras so I am able to see inventory 12 months out. Searching December 27, 2024 and forward into early January 12 months from now, there are currently 3 bedroom, 2 bedroom and studios available at Westin Resort and Spa Cancun but no 1 bedrooms. At Lagunamar, there are 2 bedrooms and studios available, but no 1 bedroom. What's going on that no 1 bedrooms are available at either resort, even though 1 bedrooms make up these larger villa sizes?

The Westin Resort and Spa is technically not in the Aventuras trust, but there is plenty of availability showing at 12 months out.

Pure speculation, of course, but the managing entity is tasked with estimating demand and allocating the availability to Aventuras, Lagunamar owners, bulk deposits to Interval, etc. It could be that historic demand for 1 BR units in week 52 and week 1 is low while demand for studios, 2 BR, and 3 BR units is high for Aventuras owners with a higher demand for 1 BR units at Lagunamar in those weeks for the same weeks. I doubt they will ever release the usage details so wouldn't be able to confirm it and I don't own any Lagunamar 1 BR weeks to look with and see if there is home week availability there those weeks for non-elite week 52 or week 1; it would be interesting if someone with a Lagunamar 1 BR or 2 BR could check and see if there is availability there then for a home week that way.

That could possibly be another reason for the lack of 1 BR availability there for those weeks....

But it still doesn’t explain the fact there are ZERO 1BR at WLR showing available but there are 2 BD LO, which are comprised of 1 BR (plus studios which can be split up), and standalone studios.

At least you can see 2BRs for week 52 at WLR. I own Plat+ Oceanside and there were zero units released at midnight 365 days out for any of the week 52 checkin days.

If you want a 1BR, book the 2BR instead and then call in to cancel the studio side.

I don’t need it and already have what I need, but given the discussions we’ve had regarding inventory manipulation, it just makes me wonder. How are there ZERO 1BR in Aventuras 12 months out and what is MVC holding them back for?

Yeah, I have similar questions. Something isn’t quite right with WLR inventory availability this year.

My experience is that 1BR units at Lagunamar rarely become available at 12 months prior. Sometimes they start showing up 3 weeks or more later. I looked yesterday for 1BR units for the first week of January 2025. Found none. But there was availability for early Dec 2024.

Does booking a 2B then cancelling the studio really work? Have you done it?

Yes, you can do it but you have to call. Many 2BR owners will split their lockoff into two separate reservations.

I just now (5 Jan) booked an Aventuras 1BR unit at Lagunamar for 2 weeks, 4-18 Jan 2025. 2BR units and studios were also available. It's the first time I have ever been able to get a January booking this easily.
We will be there from 7 Jan-2 Feb this year, but it was a struggle to get those dates.

Vistana's booking page shows availability for mid-January 2026 weeks, but it won't let me book anything with my Aventuras ownerships.
I called Vistana. The rep said no availability. I told him I was looking a multiple units that the booking page says are available. He says. "No availability."
When I book, it accepts it, then says I have no eligible units. I have 169,000 staroptions, yet they won't book an available unit for me.
What's up here?
Is Aventuras a scam? Aren't we contractually promised the ability to book 12 months in advance?
A supervisor is supposed to call me back, but has not yet done so.

Staroptions can only be used 8 months out. Aventuras HomeOptions are to be used 12 months out. If you don’t have enough Aventuras HomeOptions you won’t be able to book it. It isn’t currently showing Lagunamar availability but I can see Westin Cancun and Westin Cancun availability January 2026.
