What's up with the rash of phone calls from RCI Madge?? In the last three days I've gotten three calls from RCI using an autodialing system. The first was alerting me to changes in travel documentation needed come Jan 07 and the last two have been pushing extra vacations. It's bad enough getting three of these from a live person but an autodialing system just pure rubs me the wrong way. Make it four calls in three days. While I was composing this I received another call from the autodialer reinforming me of the travel documentation change. I've sent an email to feedback@rci.com requesting they take me off of this phone list immediately. I'm on the National Do Not Call Registry just to keep stupid calls like this from happening.

Bucky,

Do you by chance have accounts in both RCI Weeks and RCI Points? Currently, because the two systems operate separately, our dialing system sends calls to each independently. So, if you get a call about a special or an urgent travel message in connection with your RCI Weeks account, you will potentially also get one in connection with your RCI Points account.

However, it is very unusual that two such messages would go out so close together or to such broad audiences. We have gotten feedback from a number of members who received duplicates and this has brought a new issue to light for us. We're looking for ways to fine-tune and cross-check our audiences in an effort to reduce duplications in the future.

Bucky,
Being on the National Do Not Call Registry won't keep calls like this from happening. Among those exempted are any person or business that you have a business relationship with. This includes RCI, of course, but also all your banks and credit card companies. The politicians have also exempted themselves, of course.

Yes Madge, I do have both a weeks and points account. At least the problem is being addressed now. I got an email several days after my post saying that I would be removed from the RCI call list. Haven't had anymore calls since.

No Calls Here!

Madge,

I have been an RCI member for 4 years. I do not receive sales calls. Why do some members receive too many sales calls and others none?

Seems unfair, but I am NOT complaining!

Annamarie,

Different promotional campaigns target different audiences. I tend to get a lot of the calls and mailers myself as a member. Even though I think I see these things all the time, believe it or not I still find I sometimes get a call and think: "Wow, that's a pretty good deal..." I just don't get exposed to all of the offers all the time, even here at the office.
