On Thursday, March 6, at 11:30 AM AZ Time, Arizonans for Responsible Tourism (AZRT) is hosting STR Day at the Capitol at the Arizona State Capitol in Phoenix. The event will include lunch at the Senate Plaza, a rally with speakers from the legislature and host organizations, and a visit to the Legislative Chambers. Next week’s Day at the Capitol provides an opportunity for STR stakeholders from across the state to gather and advocate for short-term rentals in Arizona. I imagine the primary focus/concern is STR of properties zoned as residential rather than hotel/timeshare properties. There is likely concern over affordable prices and availability to full-time residents. It will be interesting to see how things develop.

An issue for Timeshare owners is the requirement to pay approximately 15% tax for renting a timeshare
Timeshares are being treated same as residential short term rentals in some areas of of Arizona

Its so much easier to do that than tax the citizens that vote for you, that its catching on all over the world.
