Are there any Timeshares in Pensacola?

My wife and I are giving some serious thought about moving to the Pensacola area. Housing prices are attractive to us and there are other factors that are drawing us to Pensacola.

The practical thing for us to do would to be make our move four years from this summer, so we have time to check things out more. What I would like to do is spend a week at Pensacola Beach. I know there are a lot of condos in the area but have not heard of any timeshare systems that have properties there.

Ideally I would like to swap one of our Wydham weeks with someone. We will be in Destin first week of June and we are planning one day with a realtor. In September 2017 we will be back in Florida and that is when we would like to spend a week in the Pensacola area, so I have some time to do a little research.

Soundside-Its not right on the beach but a nice place

Soundside isn't bad....

but in September, I'd recommend staying in Perdido Key. There are lots of nice condos there to stay in. Great commute to west side of Pensacola. If you're really looking to buy on the intercoastal/east side of P-cola; then Soundside is it. IMHO

I noticed rental prices were pretty reasonable for some condos on Pensacola Beach. I could book a week with my Wydham points and rent out the week and it would be close to a wash. I will also check out the places mentioned as well.

Can anybody explain why do I need to use the timeshare model instead of classic renting? Still can't get all its benefits.

We did exactly what you want to do and got a timeshare on Hilton Head Island. After looking at communities to move to, we went home with a contract to built in Sun City.

My reply may be a few months too late for a suggestion but here it is anyway. Consider the city of Gulf Breeze right by Pensacola. It saves some money and puts you on the bay side. Plus, for everyday living you are by food stores and restaurants. My grandparents lived there for years and really enjoyed it. I liked the location because we could launch our waverunners on the bay and then ride over to the bridge and beach them at the boardwalk area. If you love the Blue Angels then you will be in heaven because the NAS there is their home base. Lots of flying going on there.
