Not at this time. The fires are about two hours away from Palm Desert but it’s all under red flag warnings

Perhaps smoke?
I left Riverside yesterday and smoke was not bad there. Santa Ana winds were crazy and multiple directions but primarily to the West. I would imagine Palm Desert another hour East with the mountains smoke would not be too bad yet. This could change quickly. Hopefully winds will drop.

Prayers for everyone in the area and hope the fires get under control soon.

Perhaps smoke?

Based on the reporting I've seen, part of the issue in SoCal is the prevailing winds during this event have been east-to-west direction winds, creating downslope flow - a warm drying wind. That generally east-to-west flow should also keep the LA basin smoke away from Palm Desert. Should the weather pattern change and shift to a west-to-east wind, that could cause some smoke to make its way in the direction of Palm Desert, but given that would be a cooler, more moist wind off the cool Pacific, that would probably be beneficial to firefighting efforts - as long as it didn't come with low clouds that keep firefighting aircraft on the ground.
