Blah, blah and blah. The Colorado property tax fight was taken on by many different management companies and homeowners who already pay enough taxes without representation. Paying property taxes and then to pay accommodations' taxes as well, and they wanted a huge increase in property taxes, which would have cost us dearly.
How did ARDA fight? Did they attend meetings? Did they pay money to fight? Our HOA paid money to fight the increase in taxes. If we end our timeshare, and people buy the townhouse, how tough would it be to get out from under a huge property tax like that. Once the government gets the money, they aren't going to reduce the tax on that property.
Already, Summit County searches Craig's List ads to make sure each property is paying taxes on its rentals. They have a person searching ads! How ridiculous is that job? I know this because I was advertising my Val Chatelle weeks there and management contacted me to tell me that I would get them into trouble with my ad. (I said our units were 3 bedroom, but the loft is open, so it doesn't count as a 3rd bedroom in RCI or in the county).
