Anyone with RCI who can answer a very specific question?

I've been using II for my timeshare with Royal Resorts, but it looks like they've started using RCI as their main platform now. I have been trying to get a getaway week for a specific week through II but none have come up, so I'm trying to see if RCI has more availability to consider also signing up with them. If anyone is willing to do me a huge favor and check the availability before I choose to sign up I would greatly appreciate it.

Otherwise, I'm also interested in hearing whether any Royal Resorts members have been able to sign up to RCI recently, as I had some trouble signing up when I tried a couple of months ago.

I can't speak to what a standalone weeks account would see, but the RCI I have through Wyndham and HGVC has a lot more availability for Extra Vacations and Last Calls than I've seen in II for Getaways in the 2 months I've had II. If you mean for exchanges, I don't have as much experience, but RCI and II both seemed to have exchange availability, though because of II not having any filtering and it's overall UI being inferior IMO, I can't say if one had more or less.

You are going to need to be more specific regarding what you are looking for. Happy to help you out by checking my RCI account.

You are looking to stay:
  1. Where? (Royal Resorts)?
  2. What week?
  3. Only a last call or extra vacation? or an actual exchange week?

Thank you, would greatly appreciate that. I'm assuming it can be either last call or extra vacation, though I'm not familiar with RCI's terms. Not an exchange though.

I'm trying to check Royal Haciendas and Royal Sands, as those are the ones I own and don't need AI at. I guess availability this month would be a good comparison if anything is still available.

Sadly I don't see any availability for Extra Vacations or Last Call at either location.

Thanks for checking! I assume availability will really vary a lot by location but it sounds like maybe II is the better choice for these two. Guess it's kind of a unique situation where both options are available.

I have checked both The Royal Haciendas #D047 and The Royal Sands #D051. Neither resort is showing Last Call or Extra Vacation Availability for any dates.

Royal Sands is showing points availability for a Hotel Room in October dates, and Royal Haciendas is showing a 1 bedroom for points exchange in November, but AI is required at a ridiculous price.

Yea, the AI for 3 at over $12,000 is insane.

Wow, not sure why it would show that price. Directly with the resort it's around $135/person/day, and $85 as a timeshare owner with Royal Resorts.

Really appreciate the help, looks like RCI isn't a good choice for these resorts. I did hear they were making some changes with the Holiday Inn acquisition so maybe this has something to do with that.

Pretty sure RCI's AI rates are always over $4,000 for 2 people. It's why I avoid all AI because the cost is insane. Now if RCIs calculator is just broken, and I need to call the resort (i.e. RCI isn't charging that "calculated fee" on checkout and I need to pay it when I arrive or call beforehand) then $2835 is more reasonable, but still more than I'd pay not doing AI. And makes it too expensive to be worth it.

It showed $1820 USD for two people.

I can book it separately for less $ with an exchange.

Is the $1820 the AI fee ? It shows as $1890 AI fee pluss 4000 credits using WM. The mandatory AI is the one thing that really screws up some Mexico exchanges for us because often times we like to go to town.

$1820 was the AI fee only. The total cost would be the AI fee + the RCI exchange fee + the MF cost of the RCI Points required (which is highly variable dependent on what you own.)
