There is a Washington DC week January 10 - 17 that needs only 260 EEE points. Sadly, I have only 205. Hyatt says that even if I pay my MF now, the points won't be available till November 29, at which point the week will certainly be long gone. Even with no concerts or theater, DC promises to be of interest with museums open and possibly congress. [Redacted: Sorry - but this is not permitted in the discussion forums.]

I just booked 3 days in Aspen in a 2 bedroom unit at the end of November for 140 points. There are some great buys out there if you can be flexible.

Join the Hyatt owners FB page. I recently was in need of a 4 night/800 pt reservation at Pinon Point and had no points to use. I asked if anyone could rent that reservation to me and within 3 min I had someone who booked me the reservation (at a discounted rate no less! She had expiring points.).

This transaction would be more complicated/expensive, in that you’d need to reimburse II exchange fee, plus II GC fee (almost $300 I think), plus the points value. Points can’t be transferred, so youd have to reimburse the full 240, and then still have 205 points left yourself.

Out of curiosity, where is the DC week you are describing? Living in the area, I would not bet on the DC museum's being open.
