While we were at the Galleon in December we went into the sales office to ask a question. Walked out with a whole bunch of coupons. Thank you, Elsie. Mostly BOGO for drinks, a few for a free appetizer or dessert and one for a discount on a bike rental. If anyone wants them you can start a conversation to give me your name and address and I'll mail them to you.

DH says to tell you to check out Schooners Wharf. We ate there several times. The tuna nachos are are fantastic. They're under the appetizers but are more than enough for a meal or to share. DH said he got more ahi tuna in them than he's ever gotten anywhere when he ordered ahi tuna as his entree. I can recommend the fish galley plate. I had grilled mahi, jasmine rice, black beans and steamed veggies. The veggies were so good and you get a generously sized serving of them too.

The iguana decided to climb the steps to the upper deck at Schooners.

Go to Alonzo's for happy hour and ask for the draft beer that's named after you, your wife, girlfriend, mother, sister, whoever. Crazy Lady Honey Blonde Ale. It's really tasty.

@Jan M. I'm headed there in 14 days (can you tell I'm counting down the days) If these are not spoken for I will send my info to you via conversations...Some great info here..thanks... I'm going down with my cousin and her hubby and my hubby. We are staying at the Hyatt Beach House, would we have to drive to Schooners Wharf?

Not a problem, I've been working a ton of hours and not on here very much... I got some great ideas from you...thanks

@Sugarcubesea, we were at the Beach House a couple of weeks ago. It was so nice to get out of the crazy weather here - one day it’s 70, the next day we’re getting blasted by another winter storm! Enjoy your vacation in Key West - we really liked the Beach House.

The concierge has a lot of coupons for restaurants and activities, so check with her when you get in to see if she has anything you’d use. Of course, if you do an owner update, you’ll get a bonus - I think it was $100 credit for places around town or at the resort. Have fun!

"We are staying at the Hyatt Beach House, would we have to drive to Schooners Wharf? ". It is quite a distance to walk to Schooner Warf from BH. Problem with driving is parking, it is not cheap and can be hard to find at times. If you got yourself over to Stock Island...there are a few fun locations like the Hog Fish and if you ended up at the Perry, a very nice bar/view, you can get their shuttle (free) down to the blight area (Conch republic). Another option is to taxi/uber/walk (it is a distance) to the nearest LOOP stop, probably near the Bottle Cap, take the free Loop to stop 1. If you do this, there are plenty of bars/resteraunts and southern most point/views you can take in, even walk to the other end of Duval.

I am thankful to have spent 3 months in Key West in 1954 before it was "discovered" by the masses. It was pretty much me, a friend and the locals...

We had no problem finding parking in the city garage ($5/hr) and walking all over town. The main tourist area of Key West isn't really that big, but if walking is an issue, your parking ticket is good for everyone in your party to ride the city bus routes and Duval loop. We thought it was a pleasant walk over to Truman's Winter White House, Hemingway's house, the cemetery, etc. https://www.cityofkeywest-fl.gov/334/Old-Town-Parking-Garage

@PamMo thanks for suggesting that I speak to the concierge for coupons for restaurants and activities.
