I've read the reviews and it looks good. Negatives are no A/C and it's in a busy area of town. I've been to Seaside (for a few hours) and don't remember too much about the town. I love the area and just put a 2BR unit on hold. Thought my 8 yr. old grandson would love it. Any feedback or suggestions? The unit on hold is for July, 2007. We are NOT WM owners and just saw this exchange on RCI today.

Any timeshare on the OR you would rather stay?

Thanks,
Phil

The place is PERFECT for an 8 year old. I think its the best place on the coast for kids at a cheap price. I have four and have stayed there many times. Ideas:
1. Swim. Best pool complex of all WM in northwest. Only place better is Club Intrawest 6414.
2. Beach. Bring lots of sand toys.
3. Merry go round and arcades. I save all this until last day or two so I don't get hounded.
4. Cannon Beach and haystack rock. Great beach explore. Pig n pancake has good kids breakfast grub.
5. Kites, or bubbles w/giant bubble wand.
6. Fort Canby state park w/bikes; Fort Russell Battery w/lazer tag gear.
7. Lighthouses at Cape Disappointment.
8. Numerous ice cream shops; bakeries; candy stores
9. Rec room/giant TV at WM to unwind.
Next best place to Whistler BC w/ half the driving. Have fun!

Thanks for the great information! I'm going to keep it. Sounds great.

Did you miss not having A/C?

You should take the week. OR coast doesn't usually show up on RCI except for the Embarcado which I don't think is very nice. Seaside is pretty good.

I agree that Oregon coast does not show up often, so I would also recommend to take the week.

With that said, however, we did not enjoy our stay there at all. But then we don't have small children, it was just my husband and I. And I don't like Seaside nearly as much as Cannon Beach or even Manzanita. Seaside is definitely geared for children, with all the arcades and games. It's just a busier place, more crowded.

A/C wasn't an issue with us, we were there in May. In fact, I didn't even realize they didn't have A/C.

By the way, if you golf, my husband loves the 9-hole golf course in Manzanita. And check out the beaches in Manzanita - they are so beautiful. Of course, all Oregon beaches are beautiful - but we really enjoy the Manzanita beach.

Also, we really enjoyed the Bigfoot's Pub in Seaside.

Keep It!!

We were there last August in a three bedroom unit. It's a great place and if we weren't houseboating in August of '07, I'd be snapping up a unit there mighty quick. We were 8 adults and one four year old. We all had fun.

We were there week of 6/24/06 - 7/1/06. It's a lovely resort. You won't need A/C - it was pleasant in the sun, but cool in the shade -- and sometimes too cool/windy to sit out on the balcony. Most 2 bedroom units have a nice view of the beach/ocean.

The beach is long and wide. Pool and spas are nice, and warm (since it's breezy out). Nice walking promenade directly in front of the resort. There is an arcade across the street. Another arcade area has bumper cars, tilt-a-whirl, and mini-golf. Lots of shops and several restaurants nearby. You can walk all around the town. Safeway/RiteAid within a 10 minute walk (less than 1/2 mile). There are pedal cars and pedal boats for rent nearby.

Resort has an adjacent (free) parking garage. Your room key lets you into the resort from the garage.

We are WorldMark owners; this was our first visit to this resort. My sister-in-law and 11 yr old daughter had one 2 bedroom unit, and my husband, I and our 3 yr old son had another 2 bedroom unit. We also recommended it to other family members afterward; we wouldn't hesitate to return.

Cheers,
Maria
