For the past several days, I have not been able to search rental availability on the RCI Weeks website. It would go into search mode and keep spinning without returning any results.

Today, I contacted RCI. After a lengthy hold, I was transferred to tech support. The guy had me try several things, which did not resolve the problem, and then asked me if I could hold for a minute. After what seemed an excessive amount of hold time, with no further contact from him, I gave up and hung up.

Later today, I received an email from him stating that with the new Wyndham portal, I will no longer be able to access RCI through the weeks website, but will need to do so through the RCI portal. This does not make sense to me since (1) I still have a week left in the weeks program engaged in an ongoing search, (2) I should be able to have access to the Extra Vacations website, which I see no way to access through the Wyndham Portal.

Now, I can no longer even log into my weeks account, but am getting a message saying "invalid login" and "authentication failed".
Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

I still have access to my "regular" weeks account, but it is listed as expiring in March '11, and has not yet been renewed. I recall seeing something in the various Wyndham FAQ pages for the new RCI system that we would also have access to a "regular" account for Extra Vacations, etc. but cannot find it again.

I have 5 deposits that expire 2 years from now. They sure as hell better keep the accounts open for us.

That being said, mine still works just fine.

The expiration date for me is always June. I always manages to get a new year added on,(at least in the past that was true) and I am not restricted to just booking exchanges that happen prior to that expiration date. Unlike regular RCI accounts which only cover exchanges to the expiration date, not beyond.

reatta33,

That was an interesting observation and response in writing from RCI.

One of the reasons that you purchased your Wyndham points was to get access to your designated Worldwide Exchange company - RCI. With that membership paid for out of your Club Wyndham Plus program fees you have been and should continue to get full access to the RCI Weeks side at RCI.com including the Extra Vacations.

You did not mention your overall status with RCI. Do you, in addition to your Wyndham points, also own Fixed Weeks that you deposit and trade with RCI?

It would be a major loss to all Wyndham owners if those owners were not allowed to continue to access RCI as they have been doing in the past.

Currently the RCI.com site and all of its features are available to me personally. But, I own Wyndham points and also have many fixed weeks on deposit with RCI and a very active RCI account with roughly ten reservations confirmed and roughly six searches currently on-going.

However, since January 11, I have not been able to use the Wyndham/RCI portal at Wyndhamvacationresorts.com simply because the site cannot recognize my RCI account.

This new RCI portal thing has been frustrating for me. I talk to RCI and they tell me one thing and then I talked to Wyndham today and the guy gave me a completely different story. He said he's never heard of the e-mail that we received about being able to search without a deposit through the Wyndham RCI portal. Basically told me I must be confused - very frustrating. I should have just hung up and saved myself the frustration of trying to make him understand. He thought only platinum or gold get to search the portal. I said, well, according to the memo that was sent to us, we should be able to search it, but all I get is account not found.

I called RCI's Wyndham number back and they said they are working on getting me access - but they have thousands of people who don't have access and it will be a while. But to check it everyday and eventually I will have access and be able to search without a deposit whether I'm platinum, gold, or have Plus Partners or not.

I'm not gold or plat. VIP and having no problem getting into RCI to take a look around. Nice to be able to see MC!

Thanks. Nice to have it verified again that there are people actually able to look around without being platinum or gold. Did you have points deposited in the new amounts? That was another thing the Wyndham guy told me - that I probably couldn't look anyway unless I had something deposited.

Thanks everybody for verification that the portal works for some of you without the gold, platinum, or Plus Partners on your accounts or a deposit first in your accounts.

To the original poster, I can access my RCI weeks account the old way still. Thank goodness - as I have 2 confirmed exchanges and an active search going from last year. I am able to search Last Calls and Extra Vacations, too.

You can look without having points deposited, replacing the previous "Search First" option for deposits. You cannot BOOK something without first depositing the points (and having them clear your account: 24-48 hours) unless you are VIP Gold or Platinum.

No points deposited in the "new" system, doubt if I ever will, but never say never.

In addition to points, I do have floating weeks, but have never exchanged these through RCI.

After getting no response to my email back to IT support on their assertion that all future access would be through the Wyndham website, I called back today and spoke to a different IT person. Long story short--apparently the original IT person deleted my ID in the mistaken belief that any future access would be via the Wyndham portal.

What a company! I call to have a different problem addressed. Not only do they not fix the problem, but make matters worse for me by deleting my id and putting me through the hassle of having to re-register.

Bummer. Hope you didn't lose your week that was searching.

RCI -
I have my Wyndham weeks account.
I have my RCI points account and its associated RCI Weeks account.

May RCI never, ever learn that I have 3 accounts with them to be ah so helpful.

I can access the weeks availablity through the new Wyndham portal and could see availablity for the weeks but not extra vacations. I called RCI and eventually was transfered to what they called a RCI Wynhdam Points department that specilized in the the new program. He said that I could not longer access my RCI weeks account (he was wrong) and that I had to access it through the the Wyndham site. He then tried and confirmed that Extra Vacations was not showing for my account through this method. He I told him I was still signed onto my RCI account (the old way). He told me to go to the Extra Vacations etc screen. Click on Extra Vacations and continue on. This did not work before my call (I had tried it) but did work while he was on the phone and one more try after he was off the phone.

The Wyndham RCi portal is working for me today. My account is recognized. I can search. :D

Hi

I had problems logging in intially, after a phonecall to the web dept I am able to get. I can get into the actual site but when I put in the search criteria it comes up with this message

Mandatory fields missing in the Request. (SR003) - with a error message in the right hand corner

I've checked and double checked I'm doing the right thing:wall:

Is anyone else getting this message?

Any ideas whats going on?

Thanks

Michelle

Finally!

I am finally able to search through the RCI portal...
After a phone call to the RCI web dept they told me that they couldn't link up my RCI account and Wyndham points account because they had different email addresses for me in different internal systems (or more probably- my email address was spelled incorrectly)

The representative told me that it would take 72 hours for the change to take effect. It actually was closer to 96- but I'm not complaining.

I did have that Mandatory fields missing request error the first time I was able to log in- but the problem seems to have resolved itself.
