I am very close to finally cutting the cord and switching from AT&T U-verse to YouTube TV. Does anyone have YouTube TV (the full streaming service that replaces cable tv, not the regular YouTube app)? Have you had any problems with it? I looked at the channel guide and it looks like it has all the channels we watch, plus we already subscribe to Netflix, Hulu and Discovery + so I can’t imagine that we’ll be missing anything. We will keep AT&T internet service but switching to YouTube TV will cut our cable/internet bill in half. I would appreciate hearing anything pro or con from anyone who has the service.

I think my son has it. He's been very happy with it! For me, my viewing time is so limited that just the free app & a couple of antennas are plenty!

I could get by with just about anything but my wife is a teleholic! She wants a tv in every room and she often leaves them on in multiple rooms and uses the pause/rewind feature to make sure she doesn’t miss anything. One of the reasons our cable bill is so high is that we have 6 receivers which AT&T charges $10/month each. Then, we have one of the larger bundles to get all the channels we want.

Yes. My husband watches a lot of TV and it took a long time to convince him to leave Dish.

We switched to YouTube TV in August and are very happy. Definitely not the cheapest, but for us the channel lineup and DVR capabilities are completely worth it.

We picked up Rokus (Costco online) and the interface is very easy. Our roku ultra remotes have 4 preprogrammed channels (disney plus, Hulu, Netflix) and 2 that you can program yourself (would work for YouTube TV and Discovery+ in your case) so you can go directly to your channel.

The menu interfaces took some getting used to, but aren’t too bad once you get used to it and the guide can be somewhat customized.

When we started work and school from home, we changed and upped our internet service to the highest available in our area. We are running around 80 Mbps and never have buffering problems even with video games, tv, and work connections running simultaneously. My husband was also worried about hitting internet usage caps, but that has not been a problem either.

I definitely say go for it! We are more than satisfied for the cost difference.

Thanks. We actually have AT&T 300mbps high speed internet service and will keep it. Our daughter does a lot if gaming plus all our wifi devices so the 300mbps may be overkill but it wasn’t but $10 more than 100mbps so I went with it. We also have an Apple TV connected to every TV in the house which is what we will use to connect to YouTube TV. We actually have a lot more problems with the AT&T receivers freezing than we have buffering problems while streaming. That‘s the main reason we want to switch. Thanks again for the info.

I recommend that you use the free trial of every service that you are considering before you make your decision. We didn't like our free trial with YouTube TV. It was forcing us to watch commercials on older programs. I finally got around to cancelling our DirecTV and we just used our Netflix and CBS all access for a few weeks. I just joined Hulu +Live a week ago and we are enjoying that a lot. Mostly, I have live TV on for local news and for noise while I am doing stuff on my phone. So, it works well for that.

We have it and it is fine. We are the opposite of your wife though so what works for us may not work for someone else. We only use it during college basketball season then we drop it. You use a "list" to record games shows so that was the only odd thing that we encountered. We spent a few too many minutes thinking that it somehow didn't have a record feature.

Our son tried Hulu for a while and then switched to YouTubeTV. Both times, he added us as users. He likes the choices better on YoutTubeTV so he (we) will most likely keep it. I only check it occasionally. There are a lot of offerings, but the ones I want to watch are always way down at the bottom of the list.

We have a Roku connected to 5 TV's at our house, but usually just have 1 or 2 on at a time. We have SlingTV that we have had since they started. We have the Orange package with the Lifestyle (Hallmark channels & DIY) that costs us $35/month with 50 hours of DVR. That one would not work for you as you can only watch on one device at a time, but the Orange+Blue package is about $55 and you can watch on at least 3 devices at a time, maybe 5. We get Netflix for free with our T-mobile cell service, and Prime Videos are included with our Amazon Prime.

I tried the new Discovery+, but cancelled after 5 days. It was nice watching without commercials, but was more like Netflix in that you choose the show you want to see and every one that was ever made is there. I like watching the current ones. On SlingTV, you can watch an hour later and skip commercials or snag yesterdays on the DVR feature and fast forward through the commercials.

We used utube tv in Wisconsin last summer. It buffered a lot. I didn’t think the choices were great. It had local networks, the golf channel and a lot of old tv show stations. It was that or nothing and we left nov 7 and discovered no partial payment we had to pay for entire month of November

We have it, like it, haven't had any problems BUT they're not carrying NESN anymore so now we're looking at what will give us Bruins/RedSox coverage. GRRR.

I totally understand! I’m a big sports fan, too. It looks like Youtube has all the channels we need for sports coverage right now. I’m expecting ESPN to start moving live football and basketball games to ESPN+ within the next year or two and that’ll be another subscription we’ll need!

Yes, Big 12 went the ESPN+ route. :( So I pay $5/month during basketball season so that I can see 2-3 games of KU BB each month

I have YouTube TV no issues, unless you don't have good internet. We use Firesticks and Roku to access all streaming apps.

Quit Direct TV over 2 years ago now I think-we like YouTubeTV just fine-you can set profiles so you can just see the channels you want on "your" guide. yes you can record programs.
Also have Disney+, Netflix and Hulu. Have Firesticks with/on? (hubby is the geek) TV's so can switch between apps easily. I also like I can "carry" youtubetv with me on my laptop.

We tried it this fall and watching football was almost impossible, bud not as bad as some bootlegged streams. Regular TV was OK, but I suspect the bitrate is slow and couldn't keep up with high speed movement, especially with wide angle camera views. We felt like had motion sickness. If you like sports, definitely test it out to see if you are OK with the quality.

No, it was not our internet connection. We have 500 mbps, wired directly with cat 6 to the tv, and stream 4K action movies over it all the time.

We already watch most sports through various apps on Apple TV because the picture quality is so much better than through the ATT receiver. Some apps are better than others but for the most part, we haven’t had any problems. As I stated above, we have 300mbps. I definitely will take advantage of the trial period before making a final decision about cutting the cord. Thanks for the info.
