Guess I can afford to buy Fritos and Milanos for a while! Got an unexpected check for $124.80 today because someone named Zwicky sued Diamond (which we divested ourselves of before Hilton entered the picture) for misrepresenting annual maintenance fees.

A $13 Million settlement just to not go to trial. Wow this goes back to action begun in 2013 by Zwicky! That is persistence!

I won't be getting anything because all 3 of our contracts are deeded weeks. The size of the settlement covers very little of the extra overhead charged for the management of the collections.

No Fritos and Milanos for me. Need to use my $125 to defray the cost of yesterday’s $800 vet bill. My windfall vanished, poof!

Who Is In The Settlement Class?​

If you are a current or former member of the Premiere Vacation Collection Owners Association, Inc. (the “Association”) who was assessed Assessments for any Calendar year(s) from 2011 through and including 2022 (the “Class Period”), you could be a Class Member.

We bought ILX in 1998 which was transferred to DRI/Los Abrigados as Premier Vacation Club eventually (bad move). Deeded week every other year, originally and then when Diamond got ahold of it we lost most all valué and it was hard to use. Gave back to Diamond. in 2022. I applied for the Settlement and we got a check for $435 this week. I

I didn't get any unexpected money as we just purchased in April. Also, incidentally, I forgot to preserve our right to be part of a lawsuit by sending in a letter to do so to HGV as it indicates in the contract. What did happen is that we had a statement for maintenance fees that were supposed to be due this month. When I logged in to arrange for payment, I could no longer find the statement. So, I called in only to find out we do not have any maintenance fees due until December. So, that was pretty cool.

I got my check today. Around $160. I had Premiere Vacation Club but when Diamond took over from ILX and offered deed backs, I took that opportunity to get out. That was around 2015 I think. Thought I'd check the TUG forum to see if its all for real. Happy to cash this check
