I have a 2 BR unit confirmed there for mid-May. Picked it for its convenience to both Madison and Milwaukee, but just looked at some of the Trip Advisor and TUG reviews and am discouraged. TUG reviews average a 6.3 rating and many of the Trip Advisor reviews were very negative.

Just how bad is it? Would it help to call ahead and ask for anything in particular?

Thanks for any suggestions,

Diane

I stayed there last year. I don't have much positive to say about it. The rooms are older, and the furnishings are outdated. It is within a 30 min drive of Milwaukee, and that is the best thing it has to offer.

If you have specific questions, you're welcome to PM me.

When this resort was first built, it was probably very upscale in it's time. It reminds me of an old hotel where the local old-timers talk about the glory days, but currently is showing several signs of age. I don't know the history of the resort, but now I'm kind of curious.

I think you'll find it to be suitable for a visit and stay in Milwaukee, but it's nowhere near the quality of the newer timeshares out there. Overall, we thought the resort was just ok.

They have a golf course, indoor tennis (pretty expensive), and an indoor pool. There's also a small ski slope that might be fun - we don't ski though. It looks like a man-made slope added in the middle of a flat area.

Also, the golf course used to be one of the premier local courses to play, but now is nowhere near that. There are several public courses better now.

You mentioned you read the TUG reviews... and to me, the descriptions out there look pretty accurate. I think the resort deserves its 6 rating.

Thank you very much for your comments and the PM. Looks like it will serve my purpose but not be anything special as a place to stay. At least I will have two bedrooms and kitchen, so much better in that regard than a hotel room.
Plus, I do like to swim.
