Interested to know if this is even a possibility, and if so, what resort fees are incurred?

They were out of ThirdHome for a while, too, while they renegotiated terms and conditions for depositing.

Try with SFX Resorts. They usually have them listed. The resort fees are high right now though, but I expect they will eventually go back down again as they always seem to seesaw...

If/when Grand Luxxe deposits inventory into II Exchange, you could easily get Grand Luxxe. Currently there are only Getaways under the code LX3.

Last year, Vidanta changed its "resort fee" structure (the amount of cash you must pay directly to Vidanta) again. It appeared that they were in negotiations with II, but no Exchange inventory has appeared since then.

On the Getaways, it appears that the $1610 applies to a "Guest of an II Member", but not to the subscribing Member.

Important Information
Fee Advisements
REQUIRED SURCHARGES (energy, accommodations/occupancy tax, bed tax, fees or other miscellaneous) ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE OCCUPANT AND ARE PAYABLE DIRECTLY TO THE RESORT. Surcharges are subject to change without notice.
MANDATORY RESORT FEE IF MEMBER IS NOT TRAVELING, GUEST FEE: USD 1,610 PER WEEK/PER UNIT. Prepayment required prior to arrival plus applicable tax. We have included all fees and surcharges provided to us by the resort. Resort fee includes: Wi-Fi, maid service, access to gym, welcome cocktail, newspaper and internal transportation.
MANDATORY PREPAYMENT REQUIRED 30 days prior to check-in. To prepay call toll free USA/CANADA 855-264-5117 from Mexico 800-700-7300. Mexico and other countries *52* 55 8840 9504. Monday to Friday 9AM - 6PM *CST*. *DINING EXPERIENCE IS AVAILABLE FOR AN ADDITIONAL CHARGE* *Airport transfer to resort available USD11 per person. * The following information must be provided within five days before check in: confirmation number, name of the resort and flight. Security deposits may be required. The amount and form of payment varies by resort and/or season, e.g. Spring Break. Security deposit required USD 2500.

Required surcharges (energy, accommodations/occupancy tax, bed tax, fees or other miscellaneous) service charges, telephone connection fees, long distance phone charges, personal charges, and applicable amenities usage, and housekeeping fees are the responsibility of the occupant and are payable directly to the resort. Fees and surcharges are subject to change without notice.

Resort parking is typically limited to one car per unit. A parking fee may be charged. Some resorts may have no on-site parking, requiring the use of an alternate off-site facility at an additional fee. Prior arrangements must be made for parking trailers, boats, motorcycles or any type of recreational vehicle (may not have on-site). Valet parking: MXN540 weekly/per car.

Guests are responsible for payment of nightly Environmental/ Infrastructure fee assessed on all units.

I have been a timeshare owner since 1991 and been a member of RCI, II, SFX, and HSI over the years and often snagged extra vacation weeks at Vidanta for half or less than my MF using exchanges and Getaways with cheap timeshares that I bought on eBay years ago. I'm afraid those days are gone.

I know the fees sound high, but as a GL "owner", I can tell you that we pay almost double the $1610 for a week - especially for a 2-bedroom and that does not count our initial "investment" and the 5 or 10 year renovation or renewal fees. Many owners have the no pay unless you go feature, and opt to not go every year giving Vidanta the opportunity to recoup the loss of Usasge Fee income with Exchange companies. I also understand that you paid MF somewhere and will pay the exchange company a fee, so yes, it is high, but that is the cost of luxury.

I think II came to an agreement with Vidanta, but they have opted to just make the inventory available as getaways so pricing is more clear to the buyer. It makes no real sense to offer it up as exchange when the resort fee pricing is so fixed and all the inventory comes from the developer. The way it is now, the price you see is the price you pay. Unless you are buying it for a guest, then there is an additional resort fee.

II has just opted to bake all the resort fees and their profit into the getaway price. When someone books a getaway, II pays the resort fees to Vidanta, not the member paying at checkin or directly to Vidanta.

We may never see Vidanta in exchange again.

It is not available for exchange in II, only available for getaways.
It is available in RCI for exchange. If I were to exchange in RCI, I will only do it if there is a promotion to use only about 6k or 7k points because of their resort fee. Otherwise, getting it as a getaway in II is the other option

...and given the fee structure in RCI vs. the Getaway prices in II, that's not really a problem.
I don't know what the resort fees are in RCI but how does it compare to the II getaway pricing? One thing with getaways is you aren't giving up a deposit and exchange fee and thus also saving the underlying maintenance fee of the week when booking.

For example, NV Grand Mayan resort fees on exchange (for named owners) are $980/$1190/$1750 in RCI. Then add in the exchange fee (~$300) plus the value of MFs.

I would assume that Interval exchanges would be similar if they were available. And, unlike RCI, you can't use "part of a week" on an II exchange.
