Any restaurant recommendations while at Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for 15 :)

Got the crazy idea to take family (9 adults, 6 kids 6-15) to Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort for a week in August. We are looking for a place to make dinner reservations for one night and open to suggestions. We figure it will probably be only big dinner we do together besides a luau. Thanks!!

They have a bigger room in the back now that should be able to fit everyone. I'd try to get in as close to opening (4 pm) as possible. Parking at the paid lot directly across the street is fairly cheap and really convenient. It's a little tricky to get into the lot though. I know where it's at and still miss it half the time.

I'm assuming you mean Sansei and, if so, I agree, If you can go for the Sunday/Monday early hour for half-price sushi, all the better (can't believe I forgot to add this one).

From what I understand, after being tempted to try it, the lines for the half-priced sushi are crazy long and I would never, ever go with a group of 15 people (with kids) anywhere without a reservation. Anything else is a guarantee to end up with at least 13 tired, grumpy, hungry people, and there are restaurants that will accomodate groups.

Good money for them and it is such a joy to have a solid reservation and plan - everyone walks in, has a place to go and gets fed on a reasonable schedule. This will make for happy children for sure, and quite possibly, even more, happy parents of those children. Then you can all go back to HHV and have a drink (not the kids of course).

Restaurant reservations, in my mind, are the best thing since .... sliced bread?....[fill in your choice here] ...and they are so peaceful. You just get there and eat.

The lines are not bad if one gets there early but, yes, I agree that this is not the plan for 15 people. I missed that part at first. Works great for 2-4. For 15, not so much.

We've done it in Oahu, Maui and every visit to Waikoloa. Just be a little early (and sit at the bar) and it's quick...for smaller groups.

If you are open, there is a food truck park by Ala Moana Blvd and Kalakaua that you can walk to in 15 minutes.

Probably something for everyone and no reservation actions needed. They have long picnic tables for dining pleasure.

Right past the open Ft Derussy park located on Ala Moana Blvd. Here is a Google map of the food truck park.

Side Street Inn on da strip location as it’s bigger. It’s modern Hawaiian fusion food. Local vibe not really fancy.

tsurutontan udon noodle brasserie. Big bowl udon soups. Great appeteizers as well including their sashimi.

Both reasonably priced.

Maui brewing company great view of the beach request it if you can specifically if it is possible (only had8 when I went) and American fusion food and of course beer.

Walkable or drive is ok and not looking to break the bank lol. Up to 40 maybe..not really sure to be honest.

Kids?? Korean Corn Dogs (Holy Cow and Mr. Cow) at the Ala Moana Center - a nice walk too.

We are a party of 16 (adults and teens) also going in August. We have plans to eat at Rigo Spanish Italian, Tonkatsu Tamafuji and Restaurant Suntory (they have monthly teppanyaki specials). The latter two are also fun experiences.

I like the Barefoot Beach Cafe out on Queens Beach around sunset. It's a nice walk from Waikiki. I also like the Steak Shack near the beach between Ft DeRussy and the Out Rigger. We will sit on the edge of Ft DeRussy park on the grass and watch the sun set. Both places are kind of cheap eats for Waikiki but the view is fantastic.

The name of the shop is Dave’s - and yes, the HHV mentality is why walk 2 minutes!

Dukes is overrated and their menu hasn’t ever changed. Sure it is an icon and the live music and proximity to the shore unparalleled, but come on… there are so many better places.

OK...so now I'm curious where you recommend for dining along Waikiki beach with live music and a view of the ocean. House without a Key is amazing but at a different price point. And we're fond of the Veranda at the Moana Surfrider for drinks and music (and Afternoon Tea without music) but not dinner.

There’s Cheesecake Factory but I suggest only going there between 2:30pm and 4:30pm to avoid the long waits
