We have booked a couple units at Summit Watch in Park City in August... booked from cancelled points from a planned trip to Spain which would have started today :-( and are wondering if there are any first hand accounts from recent visitors to Park City. Curious if restaurants are opened, shops opened, etc. Resort info appears to still show pool, workout, activities all shut down, but seemingly should be opening those before August. Just looking for some boots on the ground feedback on how the area is coping.

We arrive in Park City Saturday for a week stay at the HGVC Sunrise Lodge. I’ll try to remember to post some observations.

At my condo in Park City, the pool and jacuzzi and gym just opened this past week. Restaurants are opened with limited seating. Deer Valley sent out an email saying they will start summer activities on June 26. Main street will be closed to traffic on Sundays starting the endo fo the month. Most summer activities have been canceled so do not know how much will be going on in town. I am planning a trip in early August but still waiting to see how things pan out there before committing. We will drive from San Diego instead of flying.

Vail resorts is still waiting to set opening dates for their summer activities at any of their resorts. The Alpine slide tends to have long lines for the lift so would be curious how they are going to handle that.

Looks like you got info on Park City proper above. As you probably know the HGVC resort is over on the Canyons side of things.

Life is super quiet over here with almost nothing open. The HGVC property opened two weeks ago and isn't exactly mobbed.

Worldmark and Wyndham open today for a phased reopening.

Other than that and construction projects everything else is closed. That includes the Sundial Lodge, Grand Summit, Hyatt Centric, huge Westgate resort, the Waldorf and any restaurants and shops.

Believe it or not we had a snow storm this morning that (briefly) left everything white.

We tend to hang out in our units a lot so we are doing fine. I am calling this our social distancing tour with new scenery. After our week here we are in Sun Valley for a week. Then on to Steamboat and Red River, NM. This was originally set up around a convention in Denver over 4th of July but that was cancelled.

It also included a stay at the Westin Riverfront timeshare in Avon, CO but Vistana cancelled that on us.

After today the weather is supposed to be beautiful with high's in the low 80's by Friday.

I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay.

Just booked first week of October at Marriott Summit Watch with an AC. Hope things open by then and weather decent. Wonder if the ski lift runs in October (not for skiing but sightseeing). We were there last July and rode that ski lift up and down all day, so pretty!

Looks like much of the Canyons side is planning to open on June 20. All kind of work going on, planting flowers, cleaning and generally getting ready.

Any news on the Alpine slide or coaster?

I haven’t heard much information on the coaster. You might try calling park city mountain resort for a most of openings.

Park City just announced the cancellation of the July 4 parade. Fireworks may happen at PCMR, but they suggest watching from home.

At Park City right now (August 3) and it’s more busy that I expected. Main Street is packed and lots of restaurants open. On sunday, they shutdown Main street to cars and block it off. People walk in the streets, dining tables are setup there as well.

At Mountainside, the pool is open 9am-9pm with a 50 person capacity limit. First come first serve, and then you get put on a waitlist. Gym is open from 7am - 3pm as well. They ask that you wear face mask on property when in public.

Here’s a list of open restaurants for Dine-In service.

Thanks Steven. Have a great time.

We will be staying at MountainSide in September, which will be our first stay there. We stayed at Summit Watch last time. Any recommendations regarding a location at the resort we should request? We will be in a 1BR unit.

Best regards.

Speaking with the front desk, Mountainside is currently at 78% occupancy. They said they overbooked on the Marriott website as they’re supposed to be closer to 75%. They said they are normally around 95%-97% occupancy at this time in prior years.

The nice thing about the area is that it is easy to get away from crowds and enjoy some fantastic scenery. I hope you have an opportunity to drive to Mirror Lake for hiking and sightseeing. There is a are some scenic spots along the road to Mirror Lake with running creeks and waterfalls. It has never been been crowded when we visited those areas, even during holiday weeks. It is a great respite from hot humid Midwest weather.

Just back from Mountainside - I requested a good view and was in room 7543 / 7545 (2 bedroom). This was a great location as we could see the mountain, the lifts, the pool and generally quiet. Not too bad a walk up the stairs if we did not wanted to wait for an elevator. For things to do we hiked on two trails right outside the resort (Armstrong and Jenni) - we used maps from the resort along with Alltrails app. Spent a few hours at the Olympic Park (tubing down the ski jump hills, alpine slide and zipline) along with a walk through the museum. Spend one day at the Great Salt Lake (Antelope Park) and another up at Mirror Lake and Provo River Falls. We took the Crescent lift to the top after 5pm (only $17 per person after 5pm). Keep in mind that Park City Mountain Resort activities (lift, roller coaster and alpine slide are Thursday through Sunday). Most everything was open with masks and distance. Pool was 50% capacity with 90 minute limit and wait list available. You did not need to leave if no one on the wait list. Staff was very accommodating and kind in managing the stays. There were 2 of 4 grills available for us and no fire pits.
