Upcoming weeks at Ocean Pointe and Oceana Palms. Looking for any recommendations, we have a couple of places we really like there but we need some new places to try!

Thanks.

Norma

Jetty's, Capt Charlie's Reef Grille, Hot Pie (pizza in west Palm), Ruth's Chris, PA BBQ, Juno Fish house, Carmine's (there are two, I like the Italian but not the seafood.), Testa's (Royal Poinciana Way, Palm Beach), Taboo (Worth Ave, Palm Beach)

That should get you started. I'm sure other's will chime in.

P.F. Chang's in the Palm Beach Gardens Mall on PGA Blvd. is a great spot, especially if you enjoy very good Chinese cuisine.

.

I love Anthony's Coal-fired Pizza. Fabulous crisp pizza and crisp non -breaded wings. 2680 PGA Blvd.

Spoto's oyster bar 4560 pga blvd, amazing quality and caffe Chardonnay 4533 PGA blvd, we always go to this places when in town.

Spoto, Season's 52, Little Moirs

Little Moirs has been a favorite of ours for years but it may be further than you want to go. Season's 52 is one of the better restaurants in a beautiful space with great wines.

You gave little info as to what sort of places you are looking for: family, gourmet, dive bars, etc.

Season's 52 is a small chain. Chef's have control so you aren't going to get industrial style food. It's on the turn to PGA Blvd on the IntraCoastal. Great time of year to sit outside.

PF Changs is a huge restaurant chain but does Chinese influenced food very well. If you haven't been to one, it might be fun for you.

Rocco's tacos on Clematis St in West Palm (just 15 drive from singer island) http://www.roccostacos.com/. We go every year on Thursday of our vacation week (all U can eat tacos:D). And the guacamole is to die for.

I second Rocco's!
Gotta got there every time i'm in town

We were just at Oceana Palms two weeks ago. Our first day there, the concierge recommended the Tiki Waterfront Grille - great seafood, and a casual, relaxed atmosphere right by the water. We also had a nice Middle Eastern dinner at Aladdin, using a restaurant.com certificate.

There's not much close by on Singer Island, but two I would recommend over on Highway 1, not too far away are:

Entre Nous - 123 US Hwy1

Park Avenue BBQ - 525 Hwy1

Then, further up they've got some of the chains like Ruth's Chris, etc.

In Palm Beach Gardens on Legacy Avenue is Cool'A Fish Bar - had a good meal and good time both times we've been there - the Marriott VIP card gives you a 10% discount and we stumbled in on a night when the bottles of wine were 20% off.

Also ate at the Pistache French Bistro on N. Clemetis street on a Thursday night - had a great time and good food - price was reasonable as well.

I second Aladdin. I used a certificate as well during our stay 3 weeks ago. It is not on Singer island but it's also not that far and it was very good.

For walking distance I like Two Drunkin Goats.

After four bad poor food experiences in a row at the Sailfish Marina we will not be going back. We enjoyed it 4 years ago but not since. I convinced my wife to try it again, for breakfast since we have never been there for breakfast, and it was less than average to poor. Two previous dinner experiences were awful. Now to put it in perspective if this was beef o'brady's it would be a different story. But when a place used to be good and is priced accordingly you have a higher bar.

The Tiki Waterfront Grille is a short walk from Ocean Pointe and is also on restaurant.com. I have only eaten breakfast there and it is just ok. There are constant timeshare sales presentations going on at that resort and the salesman always treat the potential buyers to breakfast so you get to listen to the stomach turning garbage coming out of their mouths. It amazes me that people don't realize that a resort that has so many presentations going on every day of the year would not have so much availability if it was a half way decent buy.

I'll second Jety's in Jupiter and Two Drunken Goats, although both are on different levels. Jety's is a little more upscale while Two Drunken Goats is very casual. I really enjoyed the tuna melt at Two Drunken Goats and I don't believe we've ever had a bad meal at Jety's.

Sailfish Marina hasn't ever been a favorite of ours for dinner. In the past it's been OK for breakfast and lunch but, I agree with the previous comment that the quality has slipped to the point we don't feel any particular urge for it to be a "must" anymore. We'll probably still have breakfast there on occasion if only for the view. It's typically hard to screw up a couple of eggs and toast to the point I won't return.

New York Bagel in the Ocean Mall has some decent coffee but I'd recomend sticking with the pastry's or bagels. I've only tried it once for breakfast but the paper plate and plastic flatware put me off and the breakfast just wasn't worth the walk. I do like sitting out on their patio with a cup of coffee and a bagel to people watch a bit.

We have been going to Singer Island for several years. I agree with many others' comments, and here are some of my observations.

Carmine's La Trattoria
This has been one of our favorites. The food has usally been excellent, although service is inconsistent. Although I don't usually eat steak when dining out, their filet (9oz) is excellent and a great value at $28 including sides and salad. I think the restaurant has become too big of an operation and the seafood and overall quality is not as consistent as it has been in the past.

Ruth Criss
We ate here for the first time (in this area) recently to use our Marriott dollars. Although the food is excellent, I find them to be over priced and everything is extra. Our service was just ok. Nobody refilled our water glasses (which IMO is a key indicator of service).

Bonefish Grill
Although this is a chain, we have had our best and most consistent meals here over the past five years. The seafood is excellent and fresh, great side dishes are included, and their tasty side salad is only about $3 with a meal. We have had carryouts here for the past few years so we can enjoy our meal with a good bottle of wine on our balcony. We usually order our food, shop at the adjacent Publix for a few groceries, and then pick it up and it is ready.

I agree that Sailfish Grill is now overpriced and food/service are inconsistent.

Max & Eddie's
We had enjoyed reasonably good meals here in the past, but their service declined a few years ago. Their NY style pizza was very good for carryout. The last time we picked up a pizza (2 yr. ago) the place was empty, so we haven't gone back. The owner appeared to be having issues keeping good help. I noticed the ratings have improved recently, but we did not try it on our recent visit. It is very convenient to the resort, so I hope it returns to its previous quality.

I have heard many good things about Jetty's, so we plan to eat there on a future visit.

With two adult daughters and recent job change due to corporate downsizing, our budgets require that we manage our dining budget. I also have a pet peeve regarding wine prices at restaurants. We enjoy wine with a good meal, but wine prices have gotten out of control. $9 for a 4-5 oz. pour of a bottle that retails for $9 is exhorbitant. I prefer to buy my wine at Costco or Total Wine and getting a carryout to enjoy at the villa.

We previously preferred local restaurants for fresh seafood, but few restaurants now serve fish locally caught. The seafood from Bonefish has been better than from other area restaurants we have tried.

It is annoying and expensive. We buy at Costco also. I'd like to find a decent place that doesn't charge exorbitant corkage fee's

For locally caught fresh seafood you can't beat Capt Charlie's. Not everything on the menu is locally caught but they'll tell what is.

I didn't see Pelican Cafe mentioned. It's U.S. 1.

We walk over for lunch, it takes about 45 minutes. Sit outside in the shade. We've had a friend walk with us and his wife drives after she gives us lead time. We then ride back :D

Also the small Paris in Town restaurant on the corner across from PGA Publix. It's a favorite with the locals so we try to get there early.

Several have mentioned PF Changs but we like Brio's which is next door at the mall. They have a Happy Hour menu at the bar. Best shrimp cocktail. It is called a shrimptini. Served in a martini glass. Shrimp around the edge with a little caesar salad in the middle. Got that before I was on a wild-caught only shrimp hunt. Don't know if their's is wild-caught. No more Indonesian farm raised, ugh.

For good Cuban food try Havana in West Palm Beach. Its on S. Dixie on the SW corner of Forest Hill Blvd. Noting fancy but excellent Cuban food. They also have a walk up window open 24 hours for those 2am Media Noche cravings.:D

I agree...it's enough to turn me to drinking Manhattans again! :) More work for the bartender but probably less than a glass of wine.

It's been several years, but our best meal came from The River House.

Some people have had different opinions, but we really enjoyed our casual outdoor dining at Panama Hatties.

We went to Panama Hatties on our visit a couple weeks ago. It was okay at best, not awful, but not great. It reminded us of a restaurant you might see on Restaurant Impossible. It has a great waterfront location, but needs some new decor. The food is average at best. One great thing was the 25% off lunch coupon that we were able to print off their website.

I have to add one more which I haven't seen mentioned above...Nonna Maria's on 529 Northlake Blvd. This charming Italian (with some french influence) restaurant is a great find with a super dinner deal that includes appetizer, entree and dessert of almost anything on the menu! Check out the rave reviews on Yelp: http://www.yelp.com/biz/nonna-maria-north-palm-beach
Its a short drive from Singer Island. You won't be disappointed!

Thank you all so much! You have listed a couple of our past favorites but we are looking forward to trying several of others you have mentioned.

:)
