Here's a good article about Molokai and the Molokai Ranch. It gives a little history and updates what some of the future plans could be. It gives some recorded snippets from locals that show how this issue has divided some on the island. It's quite a story.

Molokai Ranch was still operating when we were there. I honestly don't remember when that was. We ate dinner there quite a bit as it was the closest place with a restaurant. Their bar had a really good happy hour menu and that is where we ate most of the time.

It closed in 2008 so it was before that. That's 14 years ago already.

That's an interesting read. It gives Mainlanders a little primer on this issue. I hope that some common ground can be found to bring islanders together and find a goal for this 55,000 plus acres that can be put to work for the good of all.

Thanks for posting it, Jeff.

Sounds right. I remember our younger daughter was too young to go to Kalapapa so Steve stayed back with her and our older daughter and I went. I think the cut off age was 14 then, it's 16 now.

Zuckerberg and/or Bezos could go halfsies on pocket change instead of rocket rides.

Well, if you're not in, then neither am I. I withdraw my half.

Me too. But hopefully somebody will develop a plan and a means to make it work.
