Amex Hilton Credit Card for Craigendarroch Lodge Purchase

Hi,

I am looking to purchase a week at Craigendarroch Lodges and wanted to see if it would be worth getting any of the Hilton Credit cards. It seems that the Surpass/Aspire resort credit no longer applies for the lodges as it is not on the supported resorts list - is my understanding here correct? Do the purchase/annual maintainance fee help qualify for the 12 or 14x HH points?

In the past, I have gotten the credit when buying a week and we have gotten 14x both for buying and the MFs with the Aspire. Last year, we had to go to the Amex chat to get the 14x and they seemed to have fixed it... Last year, who knows about this year. I had used our credit last year on another property so I don't know if we would have gotten the credit last year or not.

We will see if things have changed this year, when we go to pay the MFs. We haven't received the annual MF emails yet this year.

It qualifies for 14x but YMMV. It does not qualify for the Aspire resort credit.

I can confirm no resort credit as well since I used the card to pay Craig lodges MF last year. I keep this card mostly for diamond status (especially overseas properties), free nigh certificate and Clear reimbursement. The 14x is nice as well.

During a stay at Craig Lodges in Oct this year I charged over $200 in incidental expenses to the Aspire card and got the $200 resort credit, so it looks like actual stays count.

That interesting because it is a completely different name and address. This is for Lodges and not Suites, correct? @CalGalTraveler , when you went last year, did you charge look the same? Maybe they have updated the name to align to HGVC more which will trigger the credit again.
