I did the same day sign up earlier in Feb and got the Aspire (150k) first and 5 min later got the Surpass. The Surpass (130k bonus) didn’t approve automatically but 3 days later it showed in my Amex account.

We just got them well after application. The first and only purchase was for CL pretty close to opening the account so it was after the qualified spend and well after her spend bonus was posted. Oh and we still haven’t had to pay on a statement yet. Not until May.

Currently there are NLL offers on the Aspire, Surpass and Silver cards if anyone is interested. I just got one or I would be on it again. Just google Doctor of credit Hilton no life time and it will have links.

I have had success with the $50 Surpass credit working for HGV reservation fees, Club dues, and Maintenance fees. I am not sure if I have ever tried to use it for point saving, but since everything else HGV-related works, I assume that would trigger it as well.

I went out of my way to test out paying for food and drink at the Convention Center Hilton in downtown San Jose, and since that works, it will be my fallback for any quarter that I don't otherwise have a charge.

The easy answer is no because some (many?) restaurants located inside Hilton properties are independent and don't code as Hilton. Even some that allow room charges.

The harder answer is figuring out which ones do.

@CalGalTraveler I looked it up.

My DW got her Aspire sign up and spend bonus of 175k HH points on March 28, 2025. I received my referral 15kHH bonus on April 15th.
