American Airlines to cut 14,000 flights in December, including dozens in Orlando, with more to come. See why:

I've got a few specific Delta routes in my airfare watchlist for February/March, and each has been been renumbered or dropped at least once. The airlines are definitely trying hard to figure out how to manage.

We have flights booked with Delta for this fall, one to fly from Florida to Toronto and back for just me, a flight home from Florida for both of us in mid Dec. and then a flight from Toronto to Belize after Christmas for DH and I. Each flight has had at least 3 changes since we booked them. My flight in November was booked so I had almost 90 minutes layover in Atlanta since I am travelling alone. The new flight change has reduced that to 40 minutes. I still need to book 4 more flights, 2 home from Belize and back in Jan & Feb. and 2 more home and back from Florida in March & April. I will also be travelling alone for them so hopefully they don't get screwed up too much. I haven't decided which airline I will book with, it depends on who has the best prices for the dates I need to travel. Since I am flying home for cancer treatments, I can not have my home bound flight delayed or cancelled, I am already flying in the day before my treatment. It won't matter too much for my flight back south 2 or 3 days later.

The article is behind a pay wall. But the headlines told the sad story about American Airlines cutting 14,000 flights in December 2022,

I'd like to see _more_ flights cut in Orlando.
...MCO is just way too busy, and they're building a new terminal.
...DOT ranked Orlando as 2nd worst for delayed flights (after Chicago).
...only if it's not one of mine.
