It's headed our way. The last couple of nights the weatherdude has shown this big counter-clockwise gyration of low pressure over Central/Eastern Pacific. It happens every year. They call it the 'Pineapple Express' and it pumps tons of moisture on us here in the Mountain West. We haven't had measurable rain for months, and it started today- snow followed by rain. The high country is calling for four-ish feet of snow over the next 4 days. That may be all we will get this Winter to fill the reservoirs and provide for agriculture and recreation for the upcoming Summer.

We have a clam right now but it is starting to cloud up again. I'm going to make a quick run to town for groceries. 🤙🏻

Yep. Even Seattle has been dry for a few weeks. We only got 1 inch of rain so far in January. Unheard of for this time of year. Even we need the rain.

I'm heading up to Chinook Pass tomorrow. The cam at Whistling Jacks shows it's wet with snow. A friend with a cabin near ours had a cougar on his cam. I hope he wasn't talking about his wife, lol.

We made it back from grocery shopping. Water was a couple feet deep in the dip so not too bad. It was raining in Kaunakakai and not by us on the east side, which it's usually the reverse.

The roads have been plowed in spots to remove the mud, rocks and debris. Plus there were a few spots that where the water was ponding and crossing the road. Overall, not too bad, we have seen worse.

I forgot we needed gas too so I stopped there first. Of course it started raining bad as soon as we pulled in. At least it was under a roof.

We'll stay home now through the weekend and just relax at home and watch the storms go by. 🤙🏻
