 Can anyone tell me how much to expect to pay for all-inclusive fees when I book a getaway or exchange to an all-inclusive resort? Does this amount show up when I book with II or do I have to contact the resort directly and pay on arrival?
I've been looking a a Caribbean resort that states a fee must be paid for all-inclusive but there is no mention of how much this might be.
Thanks for your help

A lot! The ones I see on RCI have a fee of $50 to well over a $100 PER day PER adult. Some have flat fees per room. I imagine anything thru II would be similar as they are set by the resort. A lot depends on time of year. High season & holidays will be the highest. Besides the money I really don't like the idea of feeling like I 'have to' eat & drink at one or two restaurants. Some people love them though.

If you have an RCI acct. you can check their offerings under "Vacation Offers".

Have you tried to book a pretend rez. with II to see if the rates show up?

I posted the same question in the Caribbean section and only 1 person responded with:
"They'll tell you b4 you book. Most resorts are optional AI."
After I posted, I remembered about 3 years ago we were thinking of going with some friends to their timeshare exchange in the DR and the all inclusive fee was quite high and it was no cheaper to do the exchange, by the time you add the air fare, than it was to take a trip organized by some tour operator like Apple Vacations, which is ultimately what we did.

All Inclusive fees

As the others said, the fees can vary alot. That being said, usually the more expensive AI fees have more to offer. We go to an AI resort in Riveria Maya which is one of the more expensive ones and some have totally lambasted me for. But, there are 7 gourmet a la carte restaurants: Italian, Mediterranean, Carribbean, Asian, Fondue, Mexican, and one with a menu that changes daily. In addition to that, there is a pizza/burger grill, mexican grill, organic sandwich/smoothy bar, gourmet snack bar (one item is: brie pizza w/ raspberry couli). Plus 24 hour roomservice that is fantastic. There are 12 bars including a martini bar. The liquor is top shelf.

The service and food would compare to any upscale restaurant in the states. I don't know where you are from, but here in Scottsdale, it would be Mastros, Ocean Club etc.

So for $50 per day, it's will probably be 1-2 buffet type restaurants.
One gets what one pays for.
