It was good while it lasted. And our pattern of travel has also morphed where we tend to do more Airbnbs & hotels with 4-6 month long trips across the globe…more specifically Mexico & Central America these days.
Couple of decades back, 18 to be exact, I ended up getting an El CID contract on eBay to compliment our HGVC. It inadvertently made the account a Silver VIP(in the silver/gold/plat era). Took a few years to find couple more contracts to make it Platinum on resale and “accidentally” added a 154k South Shore contract. As in, there was a glitch in transfer and I could care less having it but Wyndham resolved it somehow after a year and it got transferred. Did not challenge it as price was 0 and MF were 3.9/1000 back then.
With El CID being RTU, contracts started dropping off since 2023 with last expiring in Feb and my account back to non VIP with South shore remaining. Not sure if this still works as I have not seen an EL CID resale contract in ages.
Tried booking a third bonus time stay in Orlando this year and noticed that HK is still unlimited.
. This puny account has some value left after all.
