I just read something over on the Wyndham Facebook pages that sound exactly what I experienced last year in Florida.

YOU ARE TOLD YOUR POINTS WON'T WORK IN THE NEW SYSTEM EXCEPT WHERE YOU BOUGHT THEM.
THEN YOU ARE TOLD THAT YOU OWE A BALLOON PAYEMENT AT YEAR END.
THEN YOU ARE TOLD YOU WILL OWE ANYWHERE BETWEEN 500K-1M IN MAINT FEES.
THEN YOU ARE TOLD YOU CANNOT GET OUT AND YOUR CHILDREN ARE BURYED IN DEBT FOREVER
but
IF YOU BUY THIS DEED OF VALUE YOU ARE BUYING INSURANCE ON YOUR INVESTMENT AND WHEN YOU'RE
DONE WYNDHAM WILL BUY IT BACK FOR MORE THAN WHAT YOU'VE PAID. PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN!

points are points
maint goes up couple percent a year NOT 25%!
you will owe 1m maint in 150 YEARS
you can walk away or give it back but they will NEVER buy in back
THEY WILL NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER NEVER BUY IT BACK EVER unless Pathways

I've heard variations of this Timeshare pitch from other large owners coming from "Florida Triangle" (Royal Vista, Bonnet Creek, Clearwater, Destin).
IF YOU ARE AN OWNER AND YOU BELEIVE ANY OF THIS YOU ARE A FOOL.
I cannot figure out why Wyndham allows this kind of fraudulent behavior to flourish.

At least you knew better. Many people go and fall for the lies. I think this is a terrible sales' tactic. Wyndham ought to look into this scam.

The "gentleman" told me I had to buy $200,000 in Presidential Reserve to make it work. I got up and walked out without making a stink. But it was bad. My wife almost believed him.

I cannot figure out why owners who know better continue to go to sales presentations. Is it really worth your time and mental anguish to get whatever bait they’re using to lure you in there?

Not attending a sales meeting is not constructive. People will take the money and they think they will learn something. But it is always a sales meeting.
My point in posting this is that sales people are saying these patently false statements that are outright FRAUD.
Why nobody calls corporate to see if what they've been told is true is beyond comprehension.
Does corporate not know this is being told to us clients? Or do they have their head in the sand and cash the checks?

How much are you getting to attend? $500?

Ever heard of plausible deniability? How many times have we heard that nothing matters other than what is in the contract.

Not that it's remotely plausible that corp level management isn't aware.

And what exactly was constructive about attending? You said this happened to you s year ago and you were reminded of it when reading a facebook post. A year after your personal experience, you got so mad, you posted an all caps tirade about that experience. That’s a lot of mental anguish you’re carrying around with you. I also got mad in a sales presentation years ago. I’ve never attended another one and requested to be placed on the Do not Sell list, which I was. So, I suggest, the only constructive thing to come from attending is learning never to attend another one.

I would suggest not attending the sales meetings
I have never, not once, attended a timeshare sales pitch.

I'm hoping to keep my perfect streak alive for years to come.

Is that "constructive"? I don't know. I know it's how I'd prefer to spend my time and attention---the most precious commodities I have.

Same here. I have never been to a sales presentation. Whatever trinkets they are giving aren't worth it to me. My vacation time with whomever is with me is too important.

Well, I guess I have been to one. It was on our honeymoon many years ago. Didn't realize it was a timeshare presentation, just a champagne breakfast. Both of us literally laughed out loud when she told us the price. We weren't at the meeting long. Our doughnuts and sparkling wine weren't that great.
