PLEASE do everyone a favor if you have been the victim of a Timeshare resale or exit scam....report it to your states attorney generals office even if you feel its futile its most certainly not!

most if not all AG websites now have an online complaint form as well, you can file a report right on your phone!

Alaska is definitely on it as the lawsuit has listed multiple companies/names. These are the parties being sued by the AK AG.

Consumer Law Protection, LLC, Consumer Rights Council, Premier Reservations Group, LLC, Resort Transfer Group, LLC, Square One Development Group, Inc., Square One Group, LLC, Timeshare Help Source, Christopher Carroll, George Reed, Louann Reed, Scott Jackson, Eduardo Balderas, Sherrod Banks, Courtney Kirkpatrick, and Gary Adamson as defendants.

I see a couple of familiar names primarily Square One and convicted child porn felon George Reed. George and his cohorts have recently been sued in another state for PPP fraud. That guy is a criminal out to steal, plain and simple.

Not that I'm complaining but, why is the AK AG going after all these companies? Are these companies located in AK or are the complainants/victims living in AK and reporting it to the AK AG?

if i had to guess, none of those businesses have a presence in AK, so just those 9 victims who reported the scams were likely AK residents.

From the article “The department of law points to nine Alaskan consumers being targeted”.

Alaska can’t be a hotbed of timeshare owners being scammed, can they??? My guess is they are one of the bottom 5 states, if not the lowest, with consumers being scammed by these exit companies.

ATTENTION ALL OTHER STATE ATTORNEY GENERALS - get off your butts and do something about all those complaints you have been receiving. If Alaska can do it so can you.

Actually, Alaska and Hawaii probably have a higher percentage of timeshare owners due to their lack of proximity to the continental US and typically when someone leaves these states they do not go for only a weekend. Also, in Alaska, you have the long, dark, cold winters which really are an incentive for people to leave for extended periods of time. I suspect that unfortunately there will soon be many names added to this list.
