I got sticker shock when booking airfare to SMugglers Notch (Montreal Canada, Burlington, Pittsburg). $500 plus. I might has well gone to Mexico, Caribbean.

Maybe I could fly in somewhere 2-3 hours away and spend a day somewhere before heading into the resport.....

Any other suggestions.

Try SWA to Albany

Southwest serves Albany International Airport. Many of the other carriers will match their fares (USAir & United). This is the closest airport to Smuuglers served by a low cost carrier. Also, the airport is very convenient to the Thruway/I-87 and I-90. Another suggestion would be to fly to Hartford/Springield (BDI) and go north on I-91 up the Connecticut River Valley.

Manchester NH

Manchester NH is about 2.5 to 3 hours from Smugglers, and getting to Smugglers is interstate driving from Manchester, except for the last 30 or so miles. Southwest Airlines flies there, so the potential for inexpensive fares exists.

Urban5 is right on with the Manchester recommendation. Manchester is very convenient and quite easy to access. Arrive early, drive to Smugglers, get there about check-in time.

:)

we took STL to BOS last month for $199
Spent a great day in Boston then on th Stowe the next day.
On flight home (noon) we got up early and had lots of time (3 hr drive)
