What does it really mean? Does it mean that there will be direct flights to all the islands from the five locations - Sacramento, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Ontario and Phoenix? If so, it is good for my family and may visit Hawaii more often! :)

It's not clear to me, but if true, I love it.

Overall, Alaska is also co-locating with OneWorld partner American Airlines wherever possible. I expect that Hawaiian will also join OneWorld in the not too distant future. So these colocated spaces will also offer enhanced connections via American Airlines as well.

Flights from all of those locations to all the islands, from a point-to-point demand perspective is extremely unlikely. It's why most major airline s use the hub and spoke network strategy. At any rate, this article has nothing to do with routes. All it is saying is that at the airports mentioned, either HA or AS will move their operations so they can share gates and counter space with the other for cost/efficiency gains.
