It seems that there was a way to get credit for the difference between the price you bought a ticket at and a lower price that the airline offered after your purchase. This was on United at one time ... is it still there?

Thank you all

I think for United you need to call customer service to get your voucher.

With United, it's possible to do it online now. Start at My Itineraries. Somewhere (and I don't remember exactly where, and I currently don't have any itineraries to try it) there's a 'reprice' button. If it comes out to be cheaper, there's an option to get vouchers for the difference.

Does anyone know if the American Airlines site has a similar features???

David, I do have 2 itineraries on United. I can't find that button, even knowing it's there. Maybe I'm overlooking the obvious. When you have an itinerary on United, can you look for it and post how to find it? I'd appreciate it!

I did find out when I got to the site that my requested upgrade came though!;)

Click on View/Modify of the Itinerary you want to check on.
Click on Change Itinerary in the upper right.
Click on Check the Price at the bottom.

If the fare is now lower, it will tell you how much you will get back. You can continue to get a voucher sent.

WARNING - If you have an Upgrade, DO NOT request the voucher online. You will lose your Upgrades. In that case, you need to call UA. Make sure you get a Rep who knows how to hold your upgrades. If they say they can't do that, hang up and call back.
