Island Air went from a Chapter 11 status to completely closing down all operations on Friday 11/10/2017.

We had some island jumper tickets from Kona to Kauai and then on to Oahu through Island Air for summer of 2018.

We had a bit of panic as it looked like we would have to eat the cost. But it turned out that the Credit Card companies are required to 'make good' on purchases where the services are not delivered, as long as it happens within 60 days of the Credit Card purchase. Our Wyndham Barclays card was credited immediately during a phone call to their customer service department. We were able to then purchase new tickets on Hawaiian Air for the same dates.

Just thought I would pass this along in case anyone else faces a similar situation.

Sounds like you got what you needed. I'd also heard Hawaiian Airlines would honor existing Island Air tickets. Not sure of the details.

Unfortunately for us, I bought our tickets in January for flights later this month. Chase would do nothing for us. Hawaiian is accepting Island Air passengers to fly standby for free through 11/17. I feel badly for the people who aren't going to find out about this until they go to check in. Island Air communicated nothing. I only found out about the closure due to stumbling across another post here.
