Airboat around Sarasota

We will be staying on Anna Maria Island and want to go for an airboat ride. Everglades City (where they all are) is about three hours away. I have tried the airboat at Myakka Park but it is a bit too large and too slow (the park is a nice trip anyway). There are some advertised in the Orlando area but I have never tried them and it is amost as long of a drive.

Any recommendations closer to where we will be? I saw one advertising shark teeth hunting and an airboat ride. Has anyone tried that?

I think they may be still doing it in Kissimmee? Just off 192.

Not sure, but you may want to check into Mote Aquarium. They may do something like that. Here's their website: http://www.mote.org/

they might be available at Myaka River State Park, south side of Sarasota. A bit of a drive from Anna Maria Island, but worth it. Mote Aquarium is worth the visit, but I doubt if they will have airboat rides, they are on sarasota Bay.
