Spent a week there last week. Just read BMWguy's review of the Manhattan Club (looks like we were there at the same time!). Our experience at the Affinia could not have been more different than his at the MC.

Our room request was not only honored it exceeded my expectations. The hotel is very quiet (at least our 1BR unit was, but we found it to be so on a previous stay as well). It is in an historic old building and the doors and walls seem very thick and sound proof. Of course, there is the outside noise of New York City :) but we were on a high floor and that didn't bother us.

Staff was excellent, friendly and helpful, including the daily housekeepers.

Rooms are totally remodeled, brand spanking new, so no issues with anything not working. Hopefully they keep it up as some reviews said they let it get run down before the remodel began. But we had no complaints last year either even before the renovation.

We got the unit via RCI Platinum and the extra fee was worth it. We'd go back in a New York minute! :cheer:

Lots of photos to download and a review to write but it may take me a while to get that done.

Lots of photos of our suite

Photos just posted, first album in my link below. Over 50 photos of our unit.

Now to write the review. But read the comments on my photos if you want more info right away.

It really was like having a New York apartment to call home. I could live in the suite! Can't wait to go back. Hope RCI has it available again.

Looks like you had an awesome room! I love the Affinia.....our trip there this summer was wonderful, and I loved the remodeled rooms. They really make use of every inch of available space for storage. I'm also hoping that RCI offers the Affinia again to Platinum members!

Great pics. Thanks for sharing!

abbekit are you talking about the extra cost to upgrade to platinum or is there an additional exchange fee to stay there? The pictures are great! I would love to go to New York City again soon.

Just the regular RCI platinum membership fee. Worth every penny to
get such a great trade as this.
