Just posted my review of this hotel/apartment. It is still listed on the Royal Holiday Club website so I'm not sure of the status of getting it as an exchange. But it is a great alternative for us timeshare spoiled people to a regular (small!) New York City hotel room. We booked it via a travelzoo.com offer for a really reasonable rate. I'm sure it's not as plush as the other NYC timeshares but it had large rooms, full kitchen, GREAT location.

Photos in my link below.

I stayed there a few weeks ago when in NYC for business for the week. I liked it there a lot as well. Very convenient location, right across the street from Penn Station.

We were probably there at the same time. Loved the location. Would stay there again in a heartbeat.

My favorite hotel in NYC. :) Stayed there a few weeks ago, (for the 3rd time), and it was the best stay yet....had a 1BR suite, w/ breakfast for 2 for just $149/night (plus taxes). Found my deal on travelzoo, as well. :whoopie:
Location is excellent, and the (small) kitchen is very convenient. Hoping to return later this summer....if I can snag another great deal.

Does travelzoo list them often? I was thrilled to grab it for May back in February. After the special deal expired rates were more than double (all across NYC) over what we booked.

We can't go back this year but I think this should become an annual trip for us if we can get any of the Affinias. We don't have good enough trade power (RCI Weeks) to get any other NYC timeshare.

I also booked my May stay back in late Feb or early March. I check Travelzoo every week for deals, but haven't seen the Affinia listed since then.

Any suggestions for March 11-13?

A friend is going to NYC 3/11 -3/13.

He stayed at Affinia last year for ~$120----wow!
He is seeing nothing like that this year.

I know nothing about NYC---can TUGgers access any site/deal that I can pass along to him?

Thanks,
Pat

RHC no longer has a contract with Affinia. :bawl:

It need not be Affinia---any suggestions of NYC 'stays' is appreciated.

Thanks,
Pat

I've been looking for low rates at Affinia Manhattan, as well. Stayed last year for $139/night in a 1BR suite that included breakfast for two!!! (Room slept at least 4 people w/ the pull out couch and 2 beds in the BR). Can't find anything close to that this year. :bawl: Been checking travelzoo.com but the best rate is $159/night for a studio. :wall: I just love the Affinia....great location, and having the kitchen comes in handy. Will have to keep my fingers crossed....and just keep looking.;)
